Hayleigh looked at Lorrie questioningly, then turned back to Deiondre. "If you want to go ahead and spend your night with her, that's alright. I'm sure I can find somebody I know here." She tried to avoid mentioning how uncomfortable Lorrie's presence made her feel, but she could tell she was being too obvious.
Nora eyed the crowd. "No clue. Used a fake name. It was so obvious too. Filed under 'Joshua Hamilton'. Like the famous scrapper. This is an amateur's game." She smirked and tried to brush it off, but something about the whole deal hadn't settled right since she stepped into the party. It almost felt like a setup, but she'd done enough shady dealings with richer people to know that that was usual. -
AsTR1D smiled. "That is quite the answer. I have found no data programmed in me that opposes that statement."
-
X said "Exactly. Trust me, fellow android, sometimes simple solutions can be the best ones."
Alex shook Zea's hand and said "Nice to meet you too. Is there something you need from me cause I'm not really anyone special." -
"Joshua Hamilton? You should've known this was a setup from the start," Milo says with a frown, unknowingly voicing Nora's thoughts. "I can take a look at the message exchange, maybe I can track down who sent it and send SD to look for their technological coordinates," Milo offers, digging into his pocket and pulling out the little drone he'd made from spare parts. Ruby begins to wander away to explore, Milo notices but he gives a little nod of approval. He's realizes that he's not the boss of her.
Xena watches as the redhead tore the freaking door off, and she began to panic. She grabbed one of her guns, not even caring about making a scene anymore. The crunch of the door echoed through the bathroom, almost as loud as the thumping in her ears, the sound of Xena's own heartbeat. "..back . . away!" Xena commands scratchily, aiming her gun at the nonhuman. She wondered which part she should shoot, since android cores weren't always located in their head. -
(Switching the order of my scenes to match the posting order, sorry for any confusion!)
Deiondre shook his head, waving his hands side to side to emphasize his discontent. "No, no, I'd much rather join you," he said quickly. "I'm sure Lorrie can find someone else to bother."
Lorrie gave Deiondre a shocked look. However, she could tell that Hayleigh was nervous. She sighed, waving a hand nonchalantly in the air. "Whatever," she said, turning to face the crowd of people inside. "I'll see you sometime later, Dre." She took off without another look back.
--
Zea smiled. "Oh, on the contrary, you're rather important.. See, I've been tasked with the job of finding people that have been put on a special list. You happen to be one of those people. Exciting, isn't it?"
--
Alyce flinched as Xena pulled out a gun. She should have been more careful with the damned door. "I'm not here to hurt you, Xena," Alyce said carefully. "I just need to speak with you. Is that alright? Will you talk to me? You can keep your gun out." As an after thought, she raised her hands in the air beside her head. "Look. I'm unarmed. See?" -
Hayleigh was a little surprised, but smiled and nodded as she watched Lorrie walk away. "Alright then, let's go in. I've been here before, so if there's anything specific you want to see, let me know."
Nora chewed absentmindedly on her finger, then pulled it out of her mouth, remembering the company she kept. "No, that's alright. I don't need you getting involved in my business." She pauses, then shakes her head. "I didn't mean it like that. I just don't want you to get in trouble on my behalf." -
Idk when I'll have the time to respond atm, you can skip me.)
-
(Alright! Hop back in whenever you can.)
-
Alex said "Yes, it is. But what exactly do you need me for? This isn't some recruitment scam is it?"
-
"You're worried about me getting in trouble? Psssh, trouble's my middle name. I won't cause a scene, I promise. If I find them SD will just sneak up and see who it is," Milo said. He put his hands together in a pleading motion. "Pleeeaaase Nore?" This had been the most exciting thing about the party so far.
Xena didn't trust the android. What could she possibly want to talk about? Xena was nothing special. The android wasn't like any model she'd ever seen, and Xena wondered about what the they had to say. After a few tense seconds of silence, Xena sighed defeatedly, but didn't lower her gun. "L.. more.. private," Xena says, glancing at the stalls beside them that had a few cowering and confused faces peeking out at the scene. -
(Sorry for the wait, I was struggling to find motivation to respond until now)
Deiondre sighed in relief as Lorrie disappeared into the crowd. He looked over at Hayleigh and gave her a small smile. "Oh, yeah? I don't think there's anything specific I want to see, really.. Hm.. Why don't you show me something that excites you?"
--
Lorrie wandered through the crowd, scanning everyone there. She could tell who was rich and who wasn't by the way people held themselves, the drinks in their hand, their make-up... She pursed her lips, knowing very well she looked like a bit of a mess. Her eyes landed on two interesting looking people that seemed to be in the middle of a conversation. The girl looked nervous, but the boy was excited. Curious, she moved closer to them, attempting to eavesdrop without causing suspicion.
--
Zea laughed, shaking his head. "It's not a scam.." He lowered his voice, leaning in closer. "Tell me, Alex.. How do you feel about the state of our government?"
--
Alyce slowly dropped her hands, looking over at the concerned passerby. She then remembered that they were in a bathroom... And she had just ripped the door off of its hinges. She nodded, pointing back to the entrance. "Let's go back out there, yes?" -
Hayleigh paused and thought. She'd never been asked about what she thought was exciting, only to be polite and courteous to anyone she'd met. "Well, for starters," she began slowly, leading Deiondre into the hotel. "There's the food. It looks a lot fancier than it is, and the portions at these parties are ridiculous. The food here isn't for eating, it's a conversation starter."
Nora sighed, relenting. "Okay, fine. But!" She warned, pointing a finger close to Milo's face. "At the first sign of trouble, and I mean the absolute first, I want you out. I don't care if that means you have to leave the party or anything. Be careful." -
AsTR1D looked at X. "Have you ever had someone you felt were important?"
-
X stated "Negative. I haven't had anyone other than my former boss. Who threw me out the minute I refused to take orders."
Alex thought the question was weird but still answered "I don't know. I've never really payed that much attention to it. I mean it works when it wants to, right?" -
"Alright, alright, I promise, first sign and I'm out," Milo says, holding up his hands in a resistless pose. "What device did you message them on? Each one has different hacking methods," Milo asks. "Or is it on your arm? I brought my computer, and if we can connect it it'll be easier. Cybernetic hacking is possible, but takes a while," Milo says.
"You.. stay front," Xena says, walking up to the strange redhead. She held the gun to the girl's back just in case she tried anything, but at a position where it wasn't noticeable by passerby. "Lead way," Xena says. Her throat was starting to get hoarse, she really needed to stop with the talking. If it came down to it, Xena wasn't sure that she'd actually shoot someone, but better safe than sorry.
Ruby was studying the food table intensely. She was highly interested in the way everything was prepared so fancily, yet almost no one seemed to touch them save for a few nibbles. She took screenshots of the food and imported them into her internal hard drive so that she could paint them later.
