Danny waited for what seemed like forever. He began to look through the file on "Genetic Experiment #82." Before he had the chance to read through the file itself, a small notebook fell from it. It had the letters "Q.B." on the front of it. Danny began flipping through page after page, reading faster and faster, learning new information on exactly what happened to himself and his friends. The portal quickly opened, and Danny ran up to Adonis, Alice, and Yume. "Meet me back at base a.s.a.p.!" he said almost as fast as he ran, before dashing back to the warehouse.

Alice was relieved that they came back but was surprised by Danny's sudden insistence on going back to the ware house. She then said "You heard the man let's get going."

Akumu blinked as the portal formed and walk though it, sighing as his brother darted over to make sure he was ok. The twin stared at Danny in confusion when he spoke before Akumu shrugged "Do I need to carry everyone again?

"I think I'm good Akumu, thanks though," Adonis says with a small smile, happy that she'd figured out what had happened relatively quickly. She decided that that was enough portal opening for one day and she began a slightly sluggish walk back to the warehouse.

Danny ran up to the door of the warehouse, unlocked it and went inside, waiting for his friends to catch up. For a split second he forgot how fast he actually was. He set the notebook on one of the tables. All he could do was stare. The old, dusty thing was like a textbook of forbidden knowledge. He didn't think that the book was made to be seen by anyone, anyone but the author. But thanks to Alice finding the file, all the secrets of their new lives fell in their hands. He picked the notebook up again, flipping through the pages over and over.
Eventually when all his friends showed up, he set the file in front of them, and held the notebook up. "We have a few more answers finally." Danny said, with a half smile. He flipped open to a page.
Entry One
"Date is unavailable." Danny read.
Today I am meeting with a small group of scientists to see if they can help enhance my formula. I met with one last night. At 8:00pm I was taken into a black van, and a sack was placed overbay head. Once at the location, it was some warehouse upstate I think, we discussed business. My formula worked once, 7 years ago. It was an amazing success. I called this success "Genetic Experiment #1" Simple I know, but it worked. Unfortunately, not too long after that, GE1 vanished. Never to be seen again. After that, I tried, a d failed to recreate what I once had. And I failed each time. GE2-GE75. All failures. Anyway, these people I'm meeting seem to know what they're doing. We are working together to find useful candidates for the improved formula. Hopefully all goes well. It has too... Q.B.
"Here's another." Danny said, his voice slightly quivering.
Entry Two
The scientists are actually really nice. One of them works for a company, Blossom Genetics. Really sweet guy. He says that if all goes well synthesizing, we can go there and set our plan to action. We have 10 candidates. A few of them haven't even graduated yet, but insist that they're "adult enough." We now have GE76-GE85 to test on. Hopefully those trials are a success.
Entry Three
Formula 466R35510N is complete and synthesized. GE82 is showing incredible growth so far. But now the real selection process begins. I'm heading over to Blossom Genetics now. The device is incredible. This computer can pinpoint specific people, thanks to some organization. They're like some branch of government or something. Once the computer does that, we can send the Formula to the desired people. The formula is beautiful. It's in a little handheld cooler right now, it can't get too hot. Today's my day of success. No longer will the city's crime rate be terrible. 466R35510N will help create extraordinary beings. It's what the city needs.
Danny swallowed. "Last one."
My name is (its soiled and not understandable). If you find this journal, everything is going wrong. I don't know if I'll survive whatevers happening. The reactor fried the computer, and turned 466R35510N into a gaseous state. It incredibly dangerous that way. They told me to hide, to evacuate, that the reactor is going to blow. I pray for the city. Pray that no damage is done. Once the effects enter the system, it can't be undone. I'm so sorry. I failed. Ple(omitted, soiled) Q.B.
Danny set down the notebook, and picked up the vile. "This is all that's left. The only vile that didn't change forms, or get sent out, or whatever. We need to find out who this Q.B. is."

Alice helped Adonis get into the warehouse. Once inside, she listened to Danny's reading. She said "So this vile was part of an experiment to make actual superheroes? And they were gonna have ten people do this? What are they trying to make, The Justice League?"

Akumu nodded and the twins followed the pair to the warehouse, Akumu going back up to the darkened rafters once they got there.
The two stayed quiet the entire time before Yume spoke up. "While I agree with you, Danny, I think we should also try to find out more about that organization they where talking about. -
Adonis listens intently. She had to hold back from interrupting and she saved her questions for when he finished reading. After Danny was done, though, she grinded into him unabashedly. "Blossom Genetics?! Does that mean my father has to do with this whole ordeal?" Adonis tried to imagine her soft hearted and emotional dad working with a secret organization creating genetically improved humans. Somehow, the image couldn't come to mind. It couldn't be!
"Who or what is Genetic Experiment Number 1? What does the reactor device do? What 10 people would volunteer as candidates for these people? And w-what" Adonis' voice quiets to a whisper as she asks the last question, "What happened to the failed experiments?"
She realizes of course that Danny knew as much as she knew and it was unfair to ask him for answers he couldn't give. Adonis couldn't help it though, being raised by a scientist and whatnot. Question everything, question things just to put the question out there, that was the philosophy she lived by. -
"I don't know." Danny chuckled in disbelief and rubbed the back of his head. He really didn't know what to say, or think for that matter. Adonis and Yume did bring up a great point though. What organization was it. Danny froze. He had an idea.
"NEST. NEST!" He spun around. "Those goons, the ones that were after us in the hospital? What if they were the ones who funded whatever research this person was talking about? I mean, when I woke up, my nurse said I was 'another one,' then they came and tried to get me, they tried to get all of us. I mean, think about it. Their experiment went wrong and gave more people then they had initially hoped for powers. Maybe they're trying to clean up whatever mess was made now, and that's why they came after us?" Danny set the vile down, and picked the notebook back up. "There are more like us still out there, proven by that icy guy, and that tentacle guy, NEST hasn't gotten to them yet. If we can find some other people like us, we can get the attention of NEST, and get more information?" -
Alice said "That would explain why they came after us, but then why did they need to leave? If they really needed us, shouldn't they have tried everything to get us without stopping?" In her head, Alice began wondering who else was affected by the explosion.
At the same time, Angel was behind stage of a large theatre, getting her hair and outfit for a big show tonight. Although she didn't actually have permission to perform there, but that didn't stop her persuasive voice. All staff members of the theatre were under her control as they got the place ready for her grand performance. -
Akumu frowned from his shady spot. "Actually that is a good question. Why the f--- did they stop?" He said. Yume rolled his eyes when his brother cursed and yelled "Language!" At him, only to get. "English b----!" In response

Adonis giggles at Akumu and Yume's antics while she paces around. "Of course it's NEST, it totally makes sense. And I'm not sure why they would leave.. well, yesterday we fought that ice guy. Today there was that string guy. It's obvious other people got powers- maybe they see we're not a threat like those kinds of people are?" Adonis says, just thinking out loud. "Or, they could still be following us and we just don't know it," she says with a nervous laugh.

"Yeah...why did they leave?" Danny paced with his hand on his chin. "Did they see something in us? Were they threatened by us?" He peered at his friends. "What if they are still following us? Waiting for the right opportunity to spring a trap? Maybe that's too much, but a lot is happening at once and its more than my head can handle." Danny sat down and massaged his temples. "What is Genetic Experiment #82? Better yet, who is it?" Danny asked. "They must be important enough that their file survived. I mean, GE1 is gone according to the author of these notes, and the rest don't really have any other files, so what is the significance of 82?"

Alice said "If my memory is correct, they were called and told to back off by someone they were talking to. I'm just not sure who." Alice then thought of something else and said "Maybe if we find this Q.B. they could tell us what GE82 is. They could have survived. If we find them, we'll find the answers."

"I think we should try checking the lab again" Akumu said slowly. "Not all of us, of course, but we might be able to find something more
