Avery took a minute to get his balance as he went over to the 'door' and did the secret knock. People inside shuffled around, and as Avery went to go pet Sapphire, one opened the door.
"Boss?" A voice said quietly. And then, more loudly, "Boss!" The loud yell made him cringe, but he smiled. He looked back at Reo, and gesture for him to come forward. -
Reo moved forward, and picked up their kitten as he did so, standing just a little bit behind his boyf..

"Avery? Who's this?" John said, coming up to the door. He looked both Reo and Avery up and down; looking for wounds on Avery, and weapons on Reo.

Reo tilted his head confused, -
HE LITERALLY KILLED A BUNCH OF GANGSTERS A DAY AGO))
"This is Reo, my... boyfriend?" Avery said, stumbling over the word but feeling right in the use of it. "Don't try to tackle him, John, he's fine. Can you grab my cruch?"
John opened the door wide, letting Avery and Reo in. He returned from some unknown place with the crutch and handed it to Avery. "Thanks for keeping him... relatively safe." He said to Reo. "He's a handful." -

Reo blushed as red,as the blood of those guys, he so ‘totally’ didn't murder, Reo smiled a tiny bit, at the sight praise from John. But he stayed close to Avery, obviously to catch him if he fell, but mainly, because ehe loved being near him, and the sadly tactical reasoning of, close proximity to their boss meant very few would be stupid enough to risk his life to kill reo. -
John promptly slapped Avery across the face.
"That's for going out, getting shot, disappearing, and leaving us all a worried guilty mess." He said, scowling at Avery. Then he smiled. "But I'm glad you're safe." Avery chuckled, touching his face lightly. -
Reo, wasn’t too pleased with John slapping his boyfriend, though eh restrained himself from taking action, because he figured that was a bad idea probably.

Avery lit up like a Christmas tree, and the whole base opened up into a chorus of 'oooooo!', like middle schoolers. -

Sapphire hissed at her parents batting them with her paws.she wnated attention! Puny humans!
Reo scratched behind her ear. -
Avery picked Sapphire up, giving her a good pet.
