Alya thought it over for a second. Is this what her affection was to Jessica? A game? Then again, wasn’t that exactly how the Kid of Steel had been treating it as well?
She sat up and looked out the window of her home. Crime fighting would get her mind off of things. She slipped on her costume and headed out. -
Jessica setted up a camping chair with pillows and watched from binoculars to watch for the car she was supposed to watch for. She kept her mind on task by repeating her target's information over and over again so that any other thoughts couldn't wander in.
-
After fighting off a few robberies and sending Solomon Grundy back to the sewers(how did he get all the way here from Gotham????) Alya perched on top of a building to find a new baddie. Instead, she saw Jessica. She was apparently on a job; and muttering something? Alya sneaked over to get a closer look.
-
“Mark Henderson, 7:00 pm to midnight, red sedan.” Jessica muttered over and over as she kept watch, tuning out everything so she could focus. “House 723.” She muttered, aiming her binoculars to scan said house.
-
As Alya moved closer, she could hear Jessica’s words. “Didn’t know you were the murdery type. Or maybe kidnapping type? I guess a job is a job though.” She said, sitting down next to her.
-
Jessica heard the voice and sighed. “I’m stopping a murder, for your information, and I need to focus.” She replied. Since her focus was in her case, it wasn’t in keeping her voice from sounding nervous and flustered.

"Ooo a murder? How exhilirating." Alya said, swinging her legs back and forth as she peered at the street below her.
-
"Yes. Avoiding getting someone shot. How fun." Jessica replied sarcastically. "Now if you don't mind... This is serious buisness. This isn't a game like the ones you and your brother play." She told her, as if she was speaking to a child she liked to play with but was a nuisance to bring to work.
-
Alya got a little defensive at that. "It isn't all just fun and games with us, you know. We aren't children; we've seen and done a lot." She said, giving Jessica a look.
-
"Yeah? You do realize when we met, your competition almost let a criminal get away." Jessica pointed out as she took note of any Sedans that could have gotten a paint job. "Secondly, you banished your brother to the North Pole for three days because he cheated at one of your games." She continued. "Thirdly, despite the fact that you'd probably be way ahead if you didn't, you tell eachother every detail of your progress. If Ajax didn't tell you my secret identity, you would have moved on to flirt only with Jessica and not with Violet, while he would have been ahead because he would know to flirt with both. If you hadn't told Ajax that... What exactly have you told Ajax?" Jessica continued, chuckling with a smirk under her mask. "Poor Ajax. He told you my identity, he told you when I told him that I had crushes on the two of you, I suppose you may have told him I'm bi, however that doesn't help him as much as what he's told you helps you. He's naive. Then again, maybe he believes in making the game fair. In which case, is it really about winning my heart? Or is it just about the fact that with you, someone has to win?" I muttered, teasing at first, but became more serious as I went along.
-
Alya looked down at her hands as Jessics got more into it. Once she was finished, the blue-eyed girl looked up. “Ever consider that we’re just that close? Ever think that maybe because we’re all we’ve got, we just tell each other everything? Maybe some of this is a game. Maybe some of it isn’t. But just because some is doesn’t mean everything has to be thought out to the extent you’re bringing it. It’s not that he wants to ‘make the game fair’.”. She said, adding air quotes for emphasis, “it’s that we never keep secrets from each other, and we don’t lie. Did that ever even cross your mind?”
-
"I don't have time for games. I played this one and look how much chaos was caused." Jessica muttered.
-
Alya stood up. “Really? Because you seeemed to be having lots of fun until Ajax left!” She cried, getting angrier by the minute.
