Daniel stood outside in the snow of the Ice Knight training area. He usually went there to calm his mind and think. He was wondering about his own existence and how he felt about his place in the world.

Cassady took a deep breath. Her teacher's soft whisper in her ear. She knew that he had a crush on her. That didn't make the lessons any easier. Just made her more frusterated. "Now beautiful." He whispered as he stroke her arm. She couldn't slap away his hand. Because she was too focused on holding the arrow in place. She was learning archery, and his strokes messed with her aim. Even though she was completely unattracted to him, hormones caused her arm to shiver and shake when he stroked it. "Aim your arrow at the target." He whispered in her ear, holding her shoulders.
Before he could continue, Cassady let the bow go early and swung him off of her. She didn't care that she missed. She swung him down to the ground and put a foot on him so he couldn't get up. "I cannot aim with you harassing me like this!" Cassady told him. Just then, a messenger came to the training feild, looking at her with judgement. Students, especially females, should not be attacking their teachers. Cassady took a deep breath and helped him up. She wanted to punch the smirk off his face so hard. "Madam, you have a mission." He spoke. -
Daniel soon heard someone shivering and looked around to see a messenger come to him. The messenger said "Dude, it's freezing in here. Are you nuts?" "Nice to see you too." Daniel answered. The messenger said "You have a mission to do now, from the king."

"The message is from the king." He added. "Yes!" Cassady blurted, excited for a real mission. She would rather work with anyone than her teacher! "You'll have to work with an Ice Knight to protect the kingdom." The messenger told her. She paused for a minute. Meh. Still better than the teacher. She smiled again and walked with the messenger, giving her teacher the finger when no one was looking.

Daniel said "What is it?" "That is for the king to tell you. What I can tell you is that he needs to see you and that you'll be working with a Fire Knight." Daniel sighed at that but said "Alright, I'll be there." and he started walking to the king's throne room.

Cassady bowed in front of the king. She was grateful for this mission. He didn't normally send female knights on missions. Females were normally sent to help other kingdoms, not their own. She winced at the sudden cold that filled the room and kept heat around her to keep herself warm in the presence of the Ice Knight.

Daniel came in and was surprised the Fire Knight was female. He paid no mind and bowed before the king. The king said "Knights, you have been picked for a special mission that is very vital for our survival. The evil wizard Mordac stole the Skull of the Underworld. A powerful artifact that will plunge our kingdom into darkness."

"So you want us to retrieve it, right?" Cassady clarified. She was very excited, although, she regained her cool and didn't show it. Her expression was neutral but honoured.

The king said "That is correct. You two are the best knights I have. That is why I selected you. Do forth and bring back the skull, before who knows what happens." Daniel stood to his feet and said "We won't let you down."

Cassady smiled and nodded as she rose. "You can count on me!" She cheered with a confident smile.

The king said "Good, then go." Daniel saluted and started to walk to the door.

Cassady took a deep breath before leaving as well. They walked next to eachother awkwardly until Cassady broke the silence. "I'm Cassady Quaz." Cassady introduced herself, offering her hand for him to shake.

Daniel shook her hand said "Daniel Shortal"

Cassady felt a deep shiver as she shook his hand. She pulled her hand away calmly and warmed it back up with the other hand. Cassady assumed that the tingling shiver must have been from his ice powers.

Daniel said "Let's get something straight. I don't like this anymore than you do, but if the king wants me to work with you, then I'll do it."
