(Lol, it's cool, we can't all be bilingual)
With having been in France from a bit, Ashley understood Carson's words. Her brows furrowed as she glared over at him. ''Je parie que vous tes juste un joueur,'' Ashley said, an innocent smile on her lips. She knew well about boys like Carson, always playing with girls' hearts as if it's alright. She crossed her arms in annoyance. -
What she say? The boys asked Carson. Carson frowned and blushed in embarrassment. Common! Tell us. Curtis bugged. Pwease? James begged with a puppy face. It was hard for Carson to keep a straight face as he rolled his eyes. You really are a couple of idiots arent you? Carson teased his friends. But were youre idiots! James insisted. Can you say that in English so we arent left out? Curtis asked Ashley. Ignore les. Ils sont des crtins. Carson told Ashley.
-
Ashley snickered as she looked over at the boys. ''Well, you see I called your good friend Carson, a player, I mean anyone with eyes can see that,'' Ashley said, completely ignoring him. She rested her elbow on the table, resting her chin in her palm. ''Aren't I a good translator, Carson?'' She said, teasingly as she fluttered her eyelashes at him innocently.
-
The two boys made the traditional sound boys make when a friend gets roasted. Carson rolled his eyes. In my Defense Im bad at it. Carson blurted. Dude thats worse. Curtis laughed. Well, socially its worse but ethically its better. James told Curtis. How many languages do you speak? I know a little bit of Spanish and French. And I know one sentence in Japanese. James asked/told Ashley.
-
''I speak French, English of course,'' Ashley snickered, her attention to James. ''I also speak Romanian,'' Ashley added, crossing her legs. ''It's always nice learning a new language but, sometimes it's hard,'' She hummed, understanding the struggle.
-
Cool. Curtis replied, pretty impressed. You know Japanese? Curtis asked. Just one sentence. (Tabehdai). All You Can Eat. James replied, getting eyerolls and laughter from his friends.
-
Ashley snickered at James, her lips curving into a smile. ''Well, on the topic of eating, I'm going to go grab some lunch, I'll be back soon,'' Ashley said, seeing the crowd had mostly disappeared. She grabbed her phone and wallet, leaving her books behind, sure no one will steal it. Ashley began her short trip to one of the lines for something to eat.
-
Carson smiled and slipped his phone number into her wallet. On one side of the note was a drawing of a wink face with a speech bubble drawn next to it saying Text Me. On the other side was Carsons number. Smooth. How many of those do you have? James teased. Shut up. Carson replied, rolling his eyes.
-
It didn't take long for Ashley to return the slip of paper in her hand. ''Seriously, Carson? You're so damn persistent,'' She huffed, placing down her tray of a fruits, mashed potatoes, chicken nuggets and at last a cookie for a treat. Once her tray was down, took out her phone putting his number in, giving him the nickname as Player Small. ''Happy?'' Ashley questioned, showing Carson his contact.
-
Carson chuckled as he read her number. He didnt tell people about his photographic memory because he didnt want them to ask him to remember stuff. Sure am. Though, Im confused. What kind of player? Chess? Soccer? Football? Carson asked.
-
Ashley rolled her eyes at him, as a small laugh escaped her lips. ''Very funny, Carson,'' Ashley said, rolling her eyes. She picked up a chicken nugget, eating her food as she scrolled through social media on her phone. ''Oh, you can have your business card back,'' Ashley hummed, handing him back the slip of paper with the winky face and his number on it.
-
Carson laughed and rolled his eyes. Okay Ashley. Clearly Im not your dream guy. But who is? Carson asked curiously. James and Curtis were now interested and instantly returned to their friends side. Yeah Ashley... What kind of guy do you like? Curtis teased. Not me. Not me. Not me. James muttered, smirking wen his friends stared at him like he was insane. What? Shes not my type. Sorry Ash. Can we just be friends? James chuckled.
-
Ashley snickered at James, and smiled. ''We can totally just be friends,'' She hummed, thinking about her dream guy for a moment. ''Well,'' Ashley said, fidgeting in her place. ''I guess you can say I want a guy who is universal, perhaps knowing French and wanting to explore the world. I would totally date a guy who's shy and not interested in every girl he sees,'' Ashley said, sending a glare to Carson. ''He'd have to be supportive of my career, and not want to rush into things,'' Ashley continued, her mind drifting to her ex-boyfriend. ''I'll need him to allow an emotional bond to form between us before even consider dating,'' Ashley said, biting her bottom lip. She wasn't going to flat out talk about her sexuality but, she didn't want to seem out of the ordinary.
-
Okay. Carson sighed. Who knows. Maybe Ill surprise you. He said with a smirk.
-
''You really think you fit my description?'' Ashley laughed, knowing well he wouldn't drop every girl he flirted with for her. ''I can imagine you flirting with a girl within the next hour,'' Ashley said abd continued eating her food before the bell for her next class rang.
