Ashley laughed and nodded in agreement. ''I mean, if you aim and strive for your dream to come true, anything's possible,'' Ashley hummed with a smile. ''So, tell me a joke,'' She said, turning her head to look at Carson, waiting for either an actual joke or a flirtatious comment not minding either option.
-
"Okay." Carson replied, going over his list of jokes to choose one. Lame... Inappropriate... Inappropriate... Inappropriate... Lame... Lame... Corny... Oh! That's a good one! Wait, no... Inappropriate, lame, corny, lame... Carson sighed. "I don't know if I have anything at the moment." He told her.
-
''You seriously don't have one? You have to have one,'' Ashley said with a raised eyebrow. ''Were..they, um,'' A blush spread across her cheeks as she cleared her throat. ''Nevermind, are you done eating?'' Ashley questioned, changing the subject.
-
"Are they what?" Carson asked, wondering what made her blush. "And I can eat while we set up the tent." He added.
-
''Inappropriate...'' Ashley mumbled, brushing her locks of brown hair. ''Okay, lets set up the tent. Um, is it a big tent or a small one?'' Ashley questioned, tugging at the collar of her polo shirt.
-
"Fairly big. Enough for us to stand up and move around in. It only holds one bed though." He told her. He may have sought a tent like that on purpose...
-
''O-Okay,'' Ashley said, clearing her throat as she tugged at her polo shirt. ''W-We should start setting it up,'' She commented, stepping out of the car. Ashley processed the situation, drumming her fingers on the side of the car. One big tent, one bed. Did he set this up? Was..was this just some setup for us to..um, do that together? What if I was wrong and Carson is just as he was or erm, is, a player Ashley thought, concern and fear crossing her features. Her palms grew sweaty as she could feel her chest tighten in fear.
-
Carson noticed this and felt a sting of worry, guilt, and concern. "We don't have to do anything you aren't ready for." He assured her. Even if they just maybe cuddled he would be fine with that. Or he could sleep on the floor... He wanted Ashley to feel comfortable. To get her to trust him... To have his first real relationship. Now he nearly ruined that.
-
''No, no,'' Ashley said, clearing her throat, intertwining her fingers with her own. ''Anything you're comfortable with, I'm comfortable with,'' She said, licking her lips. ''Let's just set up the tent, don't worry about anything else, we are on a date and it's the weekend,'' Ashley added, reassuring him with a simple kiss on the cheek.
-
Carson smiled and blushed as he started working on the tent. He whistled as he worked along to the song Hi ho, hi ho. It's off to work we go. As he hammered in the four pegs. Then went inside to put up the poles to stand up the tent. "Can you hold up the left corners of the tent for Me?" Carson asked Ashley as he crawled into the currently slat tent.
-
''Sure,'' Ashley said, holding the left corners of the tent. The silence was killing her, as they set up the tent. Conversation starters, conversation starters, what do you talk about on a camping date? Ashley thought, her brows furrowing. ''Carson, do you, um, any, pet peeves?'' Ashley questioned, saying the first thing that came to mind. Stupid question but, it's good enough Ashley thought, clearing her throat.
-
Carson got the idea that she was trying to start a conversation as he tied the poles to a standing position. "Hmm... Bad puns, Autocorrect changing my sentence when texting, and lame conversation starters." He teased as he finished putting up the poles. "Now the right corners?" He asked, walking to the right side of the tent.
-
Ashley laughed, moving around the tent to the right side. ''At least I tried,'' Ashley said, rolling her eyes. ''But, I'm excited to spend some time with you. Tonight is going to be in-tents,'' Ashley said, snickering at her rather bad pun.
-
Carson chuckled and rolled his eyes at her pun. However he blushed when he thought about the meaning by the pun and decided to forgive the bad pun. He wondered though what to say in response. "That joke deserves a Pun-ishment." He told her, laughing.
-
A blush spread across her as a nervous laugh escaped her lips. ''A-A pu-pun-ishment?'' Ashley repeated, stuttering. ''What kind of punishment?'' She said, somewhat excited but, also nervous. Ashley swallowed a lump in her throat, looking up towards Carson.
