Kate frowned as her bus entered the parking lot of her new school. She lifted her suitcase and followed the dorm woman to the dormitory. She remembered back when she and Persephone would invite Persaphone's friends over and they would pretend to live in college dorms. Kate smiled. She knew that she would never have another friend like Persaphone... However Persaphone wasn't real... And making a new imaginary friend wouldn't be quite as real now. She sighed as she entered her new Dorm.
At least she didn't have an annoying room mate. She had a quiet bookworm as a roommate who was reading a history textbook. "Hey." Kate greeted. She frowned when she didn't get a response. She did a few silly things. Like touch herself or doing stupid dance moves. Then smirked. This girl was so into books she wouldn't focus on anything else. The girl finally looked up at Kate and frowned as she closed the book. "I'm sorry. Can I help you?" She asked in a strict voice. "No no. Keep reading." Kate replied as she began to unpack. -
(Can other people see Persephone or is Kate the only one?)
Persephone wandered the halls of this boarding school she came to. She heard from a reliable source, her old friend Kate was attending school here. She hoped she could find her and that Kate would recognize her. -
(Kate is the only one. Well, not the only one. But Persephone can only choose to make herself seen by people who's minds are open and acceptant of the weird and strange.)
Kate made her bed the way Persephone taught her when she was little. It became instinct even though her parents kept telling her that covering her mattress with her sheets was right. But folding her blankets into a diamond shape wasn't. Kate ignored them though because whenever she made her bed the proper way she wouldn't have as many good dreams.
When Kate told this to her old schools counselor, he told her that Persephone was probably imagined so lifelike because she was a message from Kate's brain telling Kate how her subconscious wanted things done. That made enough sense to normal people. But Kate had been talking to herself ever since. Sometimes she didn't even hear her own chatter because she was staring into space. "Can you please stop your chattering? And who makes their bed like that!?!" The bookworm demanded. "I do. So shut up." Kate replied with a smirk. -
(I see.)
Persephone looked around but couldn't find Kate. She soon came to a bulletin board and on it was students names and room numbers. She found Kate's room to be 183. She ran as fast as she could to get there. -
Kate finished making the bed and continued to unpack. She talked to herself as she unpacked. "After I'm done unpacking... I should probably look for a cafeteria." She told herself. "Then I'll look for a quiet place to draw. Maybe a library or a closet." She added. "Okay... I'm gonna go now cause you're scaring me..." The bookworm muttered, leaving the dorm. "Crazy! My roommate is looney!" Kate heard her mutter as she walked out the door.
-
Persephone got to the room quick enough to stop Kate. She stopped to breath and said "Hey, how's it going?"
-
(The bookworm left. Not Kate. Kate was still unpacking.)
Kate heard a voice and looked around. She couldn't see anything until the bookworm left. Then she saw a familiar looking girl with elf ears and purple eyes. "Persephone?" Kate asked, dropping the book she was unpacking. "No... It can't be... She's not real..." Kate reminded herself as the girl disappeared from Kates site. "It's just your imagination... Just your imagination..." She whispered to herself, not wanting to be sent to therapy again.. -
(Sorry, I misunderstood.)
Persephone realized it wasn't Kate who came out. Just some random girl. She walked into the room to see if Kate was there. Low and behold, she was. -
Kate finished packing and closed her eyes as she turned. "I'm not going crazy." She whispered to herself before opening her eyes. "It was just my imagination." She told herself when she didn't see Persephone.
-
Persephone looked worried now. Could she really not see her anymore? She came in and stood beside her to see if she saw her.
-
Kate blinked when she saw Persephone standing right in front of her. "P-Persephone?" She asked. She frowned at the thought that maybe she was crazy. She made sure no one was around. Luckily the hall was empty. "Is... Is that... Are you... Real?" Kate asked, backing up a bit.
-
Persephone smiled and said "Yes I am, and I'm happy you can see me again." She then gave Kate a very big hug to prove it.
-
(You changed the plot a bit. But that's okay.)
Kate blinked. "But... But..." She muttered, backing away from the hug. How could she touch something that was... That was in her head? "My parents said you were... This is... You aren't real..." She muttered to herself, trying to wonder what was happening. -
(Sorry)
Persephone said "I'm very real, but only you can see me." -
"So... I'm not crazy?" She asked. Then again... If an illusion told her she wasn't crazy that just made her more crazy. "No... You can't be... I... I can't think right... I..." She said, studying Persephone. She ran off trying to see if she could calm down by running.
