Soap:
Alyssa opened up her eyes in panic, the nightmare she was having still running through her mind. However, the dark dreams of the night did not last long and she soon regained her mental footing. "Gah... That was..." She takes a moment to think. "Terrifying, to say the least..."
Role Play:
Alyssa: *She wakes up from her nightmare, panicked and afraid but only momentarily* Gah... That was... Terrifying, to say the least... -

Basically, soaps are more descriptive since they are written more like books. Or at least, they SHOULD be like that, but most people like to use 1-2 liners.
Those people are scum.
