"I'm afraid that isn't true." Oak lied. He said "Nevermind that though, I have something for you all." His assistant gave our heroes each one map of the Kanto region. Oak was then given a cylindrical capsule and said "Now, I know you all have your starter Pokemon. But, because you're new here, I wish you give you your first Kanto Pokemon." He opened the capsule and five Pokeballs were inside. Each had a different sticker depicting the type of Pokmon inside. The choices were Grass, Fire, Water, Electric and Normal. Dustin chose Water.
(I know it might be obvious but, I want to explain in case of confusion. The Pokemon are Bulbasaur, Charmander, Squirtle, Pikachu and Eevee.) -
Olivia, knowing the order of gyms in Kanto, decided Bulbasaur would be best. He could beat the first three gyms, giving her a great head Start! But then she remembered she had a grass type and chose Pickachu instead. "I choose electric!" She announced.

Archaios blinked and thought for abit before chosing the normal type pokemon, smiling faintly at the pokeball

Roxanne had a vague understanding of the Kanto starters. There was a trainer that lived near Goldenrod that had a... bulbasaur, was it? Roxanne didn't care, she wasn't a big fan of grass types. Speaking of, the last two pokemon available were the grass type and the fire type. She chose the fire type, her type bias speaking for her.

Alyona tilted her head slightly as she stared at the pokeballs. "I have a grass and Dark/Ice type... That means both of my current pokemon are weak to fire types..." She picks up the water pokemon and stares inside it, the Squirtle looking back up at her. "Heheh, I like turtles. I shall choose this one. Welcome to the union, Gidro." She smiled at it and put it inside her left jacket pocket, looking over to Roxanne. This will also give me the upper hand against my new rival... Heheh, clever, da?

(Wait hold it, I picked Squirtle. All that's left is Bulbsaur.)

Ah, right. Forgot that last part. Just replace the squirtle with bulbasaur and replace I like turtles with "frogs look funny.")

Dustin said "Come on out, my friend." and opened the new Pokeball. Squirtle popped out of the ball and said "Squirtle." and Dustin petted him. -
Olivia let out her Pikachu. "I'll name you Thundra!" She cheered. Judging by the heart shaped tail, her Pikachu was a girl. "Picka!" Thundra cheered, being petted by Olivia.

Archaos let out the eevee and smiled as pharaoh walked over to it to say hi. He crouched down "hello little one" he said as he reached out and rubbed the eevees head "i think ill call you Chimara, does that sound good" the eevee purred and nodded, making Archaios smile more

Deciding to follow the others, Roxanne released her newly gifted pokemon. She was a scaly-looking fellow, that was for sure, with a flame on her tail. What were these Pokemon called again? Charm-something. Charmeleon? No, thats the evolution. Wait- they're called charmanders. Nailed it, thought Roxanne. She went to the charmander's level and said, "I should probably give you a name, shouldn't I?" The fire-type only responded with a simple 'charm!' In return. "Yeah," said Roxanne offhandedly. "So... Philipa? Or maybe Ember or... wait, I've got a good name in mind." The charmander tilted its head to the side. "Dragana?" The charmander paused for a thought of consideration, then nodded happily. "Charmander!" She said. Roxanne nodded. "Good." She nodded. "Dragana," she said, getting herself use to the name.

Dustin returned his Squirtle to his Pokeball and Professor Oak said "I'm glad everyone is enjoying their Pokmon. Now listen carefully, I'm sure most of you are at least sort of experienced trainers. But be careful out there, I've heard rumors that Team Rocket is still active. But in any case, enjoy your journey." and our heroes left to Route 1. -
