Thread Topic: I'm back...

Azalea chuckled sadly, "Right, me being princess means I can turn my back on my starving citizens. I'm afraid not. Being royal isn't as easy as you make it out to be. In fact, there's a ball tomorrow night at which I am supposed to be betrothed to a male of my choosing. However, if I don't choose and choose well, the kingdom will be under the rule if my sadistic uncle, meaning I must bear his children."
-
Nigel said "Okay I get, you can't turn a blind eye to starving peasants like me. But listen, this ball thing, doesn't sound like a good idea. You should get to know the person and then decide if you want to share a life. And from what it seems like, if you don't pick Mr. Right, you're stuck with him."
-
Azalea sighed, "I wish it were that easy, Nigel, but it isn't. It's my sacred duty to do what's best for the kingdom, not what I please. If that brings my unhappiness, the citizens wouldn't care, just so long as I force a smile and provide for them better than my selfish father. Now then, let's drop this depressing subject."
-
Nigel said "Okay then. So what do you wish for me to do first, Princess Azalea?"
-
Azalea sighed, resisting the urge to snap at being called Princess despite her rule. "I'm going to the garden. You may do as you please." She walked out, head held high.
-
Nigel just stood around wondering what he could do now. He then thought You know what, I'm going for something to eat. He then walked to the kitchen.
-
Azalea sat in a secluded part of the garden, sighing as she plucked petals from a rose and watching them fall sadly. "Love.... He acts like it exists. All that exists is lust and greed."
-
Nigel got an apple from the kitchen and, while eating it, walked through the halls of the castle. He marveled at all the fine tapestries and decorations until he came across one painting that caught his attention. It was titled "Best Friends R.I.P" and it was a picture of both his parents and the king.
-
Azalea stood and sighed, walking to the ball room since she'd have to dance in it the next day. She sighed and hummed quietly, twirling herself around gracefully.
-
Nigel walked away from the painting before he started crying. He walked into the ball room and noticed Azalea dancing. He hid behind a column near the door to avoid being spotted till the time was right.
-
Azalea closed her eyes and continued, dancing with an imaginary partner, politely curtsying. She hummed and spun, her hair flowing gracefully.
-
Nigel watched as Azalea danced so gracefully. He thought she was amazing and beautiful while she did it.
-
Azalea sighed as she stopped and stumbled, dizzily falling to the ground. She broke into a coughing fit, hunched over with a slight whimper.
-
Nigel ran over to Azalea, grabbed her shoulder and patted her back to help her.
-
Azalea stiffened and forced herself to stand, sighing. "I-I'm fine... Just a little dizzy..." She murmured, leaning against him slightly, she was obvious a bit sickly, but was too head strong to admit it.
