me: honey you aren't going to survive in this school
me: *gestures to all of the gays--*
Name: Asher Scarborough
Age: 16
Gender: Male
Sexuality: Gay
Physical Appearance:
Personality: He's a very chill kind of guy, and is very easy to approach. He often makes jokes, and loves having special handshakes for all of his friends. He prefers creativity above everything, and will often drop quotes when people are down in an attempt to inspire them. One might say he's the star in a land of darkness... :)that's not even a quote I don't think i'm just trying to be cheesy
Reason for attending: He tested in because of his parents' influence and passed with flying colors.
Grade level: 11th
Classes: Photography, Theatre II, Journalism
Clubs: Drama, Photography
Positions in clubs/on student council: N/A
Other: N/A
Name: Priscilla Scarborough
Age: 17
Gender: Female
Sexuality: Straight
Physical Appearance:
Personality: A perfect Christian girl. Follows all of the rules, is ahead on assignments, and is more focused on her future than the present. She doesn't make jokes often, and can be extremely serious. However, when you get to know her, she is quite friendly and /might/ even crack a few jokes.
Reason for attending: Same as Asher; Tested in because of her parents' influence and passed with flying colors.
Grade level: 11th
Classes: Intro To Business, Student Council, Choir/Whatever sort of singing classes there are
Clubs: Speech and Debate
Positions in clubs/on student council: Student Council Vice President
Other: Dislikes her younger brother, Asher, with a fiery fashion. He admitted to being gay to her, and although she has kept his sexuality a secret from their parents, she personally feels that he has given up on God and refuses to communicate with him more than needed. A part of her feels bad that she avoids him, though. Also is a part of the local church choir. And loves cats.
Name: Sophia Kiser
Age: 15
Gender: Female
Sexuality: Demisexual/Pansexual (If there's a word for that, forgive me, I don't know it myself)
Physical Appearance:
Personality: Total nerd. She's very loud, and can make some of the DUMBEST comments you've ever heard, but she's very smart academically. She loves the little things, and is what I like to call an "average teenager" apart from being different. Despite knowing her family is rich, she is pretty modest about it, and uses her own money to give back to the community instead of getting things for herself.not including anime merch and LARPing outfits
Reason for attending: Her parents are very rich, and because she's their only child, they forced her into it. Of course, when prompted to take the test, she didn't do as bad as they thought she would.
Grade level: 10th
Classes: Visual Arts, French II, Theatre I
Clubs: Anime, Drama
Positions in clubs/on student council: N/A
Other: N/A -
When do I ever use real people--
Name: Seija (say-ah) Laciann
Age: 17
Gender: Female
Sexuality: Straight
Physical Appearance: Here
Personality: Seija is a very outgoing and social person, spending most of her with friends or working on music. Though she would rather focus on anything that involves performing, she forces herself to work on her other studies so she doesn't fall behind. She knew well of Maple Ridge's high standards and expectations and doesn't want to disappoint her parents by flunking out. Not only does Seija want to be a successful performer, but she takes on her responsibilities to be a good role model for her younger brother, who happened to follow in her footsteps by attending MRHS as well. She's a doting older sister, even if there's only a year difference. She's always trying to get her brother to embrace his own talent and come out of his shell more often.
Reason for attending: She is a natural, talented performer and wishes to make a career out of singing and acting.
Grade level: 11th
Classes: Choir, Theatre II, Advanced Dance
Clubs: Drama, Acoustic Jams (students come together to play music with acoustic/non-electric instruments)
Positions in clubs/on student council: President of Acoustic Jams
Other: Enjoys playing the piano alongside her brother when he's on violin. Secretly spies on him when he's playing or writing music alone.
Name: Julien Laciann
Age: 15
Gender: Male
Sexuality: Homoromantic Demisexual
Physical Appearance: Here
Personality: Shy, timid, and quiet, Julien has a difficult time socializing with other people, and - more often than not - would rather be alone. He's often misunderstood because he doesn't properly express his emotions, mostly because he doesn't express them much at all. Such misunderstandings result in him upsetting others, so he prefers to avoid people in general. He despises feeling like he did something wrong but having no idea what it was. The only person who understands him completely is his sister. Frankly, he is annoyed by her constant affection and attempts to get him to be social, but enjoys when they spend time alone, usually playing music. Julien finds his sister's voice to be soothing and inspiring, so he goes out of his way to learn her favorite songs for her sing while he plays.
Reason for attending: Musical prodigy, was sent to MRHS in hopes that he would find himself and become sociable.
Grade level: 10th
Classes: Art I, Creative Writing, Meditation course in place of gym
Clubs: Acoustic Jams (by force)
Positions in clubs/on student council: Technically the Vice Pres. of Acoustic Jams because of his sister
Other: Has a surprisingly good singing voice and snorts when he laughs. Hearing either of these things is rare for everyone excluding his sister.
Name: Remi Sonnen
Age: 15
Gender: Male
Sexuality: Unknown
Physical Appearance: Here
Personality: Remi is rather serious and strict when it comes to studies, especially since he tested into MRHS for both himself and his parents. Failure is something he works hard to avoid and when something goes wrong, he tries his best to fix the mistakes. His main passion is science, so deep down he knows failure is bound to happen at some point, but he'd rather keep it a part of his experiments not his classes. On the side, Remi's fascinated by life and the world around him and believes that everything can be explained by a scientific process. So he wishes to study things that are often considered mysteries. He also loves working with technology and fixing or working on things that could be useful to society.
Reason for attending: Requested by his parents to test in due to his interest in science, in which he excels.
Grade level: 10th
Classes: Photography, Computer Science, Anthropology
Clubs: Robotics, Photography
Positions in clubs/on student council: President of Robotics club
Other: Known to have a soft center under a hard shell. -
ALRIGHTY GUYS
I'm gonna start this thing when I get home tomorrow, and then we'll be off and going. Others are STILL WELCOME TO JOIN, all you gotta do is fill out a character sheet!
Here is the list of roommates, as randomly selected:
Avalon, Katelyn - Dorm Building B, Room 111 (Shares a bathroom with room 112)
Priscilla , Zara - Dorm Building B, Room 112
Remi, Brennan - Dorm Building B, Room 113 (Shares a bathroom with room 114)
Kade, Asher - Dorm Building B, Room 114
Sophia, Charlie - Dorm Building B, Room 115 (Shares a bathroom with room 116)
Seija, Elizabeth - Dorm Building B, Room 116
Abel, Julien - Dorm Building B, Room 117 (Private bathroom)
Dorm Building B has a lounge and kitchen, as well as a laundry room. -
Abel shrugged his bags off in front of his dorm room, reaching to fish his key out of his pocket- Only to realize that he'd failed to grab it when he picked up his room assignment. Or had it been in the envelope with his information letter? Either way, he would need to head to the office, but the building was all the way across campus and it was ridiculously hot outside. He'd just wait until his roommate arrived and pick up the key on his way back from orientation.
He took a marker out of his bag and grabbed the whiteboard that hung on his door, neatly printing his name across it, as well as drawing a few stars and space ships around the edges. He wondered if his roommate would be a girl- The co-ed dorm rooms were part of the "unique experience" that Maple Ridge provided. It struck him as odd but he didn't exactly mind. He only hoped that they would be nice, and wouldn't stay up all night studying.
Charlie put another piece of sticky tack on the wall, firmly pressing the last corner of the world map to it. It was an impossible canvas, with notes and circled locations and random drawings of dragons. It took up the whole wall above his bed, and he hoped that his roommate wouldn't make him take it down. He'd had it since his Freshman year and he'd yet to face opposition for it- He'd had to explain why most of the notes were written in other languages. His mom was a translator and the map had been hers originally. All the places circled in red where ones she wanted to visit- The money she had saved up, however, went into paying half his tuition for the past two years. This year, he was finally on full scholarship.
He sighed and flopped back on his bed, wondering if the kitchen would be open yet. And if anyone in Building B would rat him out for sneaking some coffee in. He thought the rule was stupid, but there were always those do-good kids..
Avalon had to try four times before she finally got the key to fit into the lock- It turned, and stuck. Of course. This happened last year, too. Her dorm had been the weird one, a door that wouldn't lock. This one.. Wouldn't unlock. Her bag was starting to hurt her shoulders, and she'd sat the other one on her foot and the edge of her encyclopedia was digging painfully into her foot. How much trouble would she get in for busting the door open? There would be repairs to pay for, or course. No, she decided. Not worth it.
But.. She needed to get in soon, because she was beginning to really, really need to use the bathroom.

Zara walked slowly along the path to where her dorm building was she twirled her key ring around her finger not even being able to hear the jingling due to the headphones in her ears blasting at full volume. She held her guitar in its case and two other bags, she never really used her guitar much just once in a while to relieve stress or just for practice. The backpack on her back was slightly heavier then the other bags but it was fine since it was her back. She walked into the building, navigating herself with a confidence level only she could fake, she'd been in a different building last year and had to guess off that. She found her way to her room quick enough and unlocked it, she glanced over at a girl who seemed to be having a bit of trouble, she wasn't sure what she needed so she shrugged and walked in leaving the door open. If the girl really needed something she could ask herself. She walked in dropping her stuff beside the bed she'd officially claimed and fell on it. She wanted a nap, her mom had the brilliant idea of having a party the night before like she did freshman year, like before most of the building was there, and it was tiring and her little sister had been up till the wee hours on the morning on a sugar rush.
Brennan walked into the building he was staying in for the school year in his own bubble of resentment, he didn't necessarily hate the school, well he did, but he hated school in general, the difference was here he had to pay attention and do homework but he would live, probably. Being in his own little mind frame he just took out his key and walked in, and shut the door gently. He dropped the bag filled with mostly sports equipment on the floor and gently kickebit til it was hidden under the bed and picked up the hockey bag filled with stuff and put it on the beg. He waited for a moment til he started to unpack.
Liz walked with a small chuckle in the building, she found it funny the looks of disbelief and disgust she earned walking around the campus in her faded torn skinny jeans and crop top, her hair probably was a large factor as well, but she obviously didn't care. She'd heard a few, "She's the Knoxs' daughter" in quite a few different tones, amusement, pitty, worry, and once again, disbelief and disgust, oh and the obvious gossip tone only someone that has always been sitting at the top of the foodchain can prefect. Once she reached her door she pulled her key out of her pocket, "You can wait in here if you want." She called at the kid waiting at his door, not turning around, she walked in, leaving the door wide open. She dropped all her stuff at the foot of one of the beds then laid down crossing her legs one over the other and crossing her arms behind her head. -
Kade walked down the long, quiet hallway with his face staring down at the floor, pulling his two suitcases along with him as he softly sung along with the beats playing in his ears. "The world is spinning too fast, I got that tight kids shoes... Keep myself tethered to the days i've tried to... Oh.." Kade turned his head slightly upwards and looked at the numbers engraved on a small gold-colored sheet of metal on the door. "114." He read aloud. Before he had realized it, he was already at his room. Well, not HIS room per say, but... He was going to be living in it for a while, so it was half his. Right? He was going to have to share it, but only with one person. So half was his, the other was whoever was with him. Oh... He might already be here. Or... she, but... I'm sure they don't pair up other guys with girls for a multitude of reasons. To check if his roomie was already inside, he gave the solid white door a good 3 solid knocks before waiting for an answer. The sound of the knocked gently echoed in the empty hallway, but Kade could not hear it over the sound of his music.
"...No answer, no roomie." He said after a minute of waiting. With that, he set his suitcases upright and grabbed his key from his book bag, pulling it out, and inserting it into the gold-plated door handle. Once inside, he gave the key a twist, pulled it out, and shoved it back into his book bag before opening the door and revealing the room behind. -

Asher's fists were a sheet-like white as he and Priscilla approached the dorm. The two had been dropped off, and although he was familiar with the campus, it was always nerve wracking for him. He had tried several times to get his sister to speak to him, even once. However, despite his short comments and jokes, she remained silent. Ever since he had come out to her, she had broken away from him. He felt as if he was walking alone- as if she wasn't right beside him. When they reached her room, he offered her a smile, trying to see if he could at least get a goodbye. "I hope your roommate is nice," Asher offered. Silence. "I'll see you around?"
Priscilla glanced at her brother, her light blue eyes lacking emotion. She shoved past him, staring at the open door. She could tell that her roommate had beat her to being the first one there. As the brunette stepped inside of the room, she heard her brother's footsteps going off down the hallway. A small sigh escaped her lips as she slammed the door shut behind her. On one of the beds, another female was laying there, looking tired. She wondered if she should say something. The girl was, after all, seemingly trying to sleep. She decided against greeting her new roommate and scuttled to her side of the room, dumping her bag onto her bed.
Sophia reached her room, her eyes shining. This would be her second year at Maple Ridge. Her first year, she had been paired up with another girl who wasn't very fond of her. This year, she hoped her partner would be a little more carefree. Shifting the weight of her bags to her shoulders, she shoved her key into the door, holding her breath. She had seen another girl struggling to get into her room, and had hoped she wouldn't have the same issue. Luckily, when she turned it, the door opened without a problem. Grinning, she shoved the door open with her foot, her eyes scanning for her new roommate. He was already there, reaching up on the wall to put.. A map? Sophia tilted her head, standing in the doorway. "What's that for?" She blurted out, not even greeting the boy. "Is it, like, something for a fandom?" -
Seija sighed in disappointment as she made her way to the dorms, her younger brother having already gotten far ahead of her. Last year when her sibling first attended Maple Ridge, she kept him close to her in an attempt to show him around and get him to meet people. It appeared that he hadn't been very happy about that and prepared to make distance between them to go their own dorms when the new school year started. Sometimes she really didn't understand his disinterest in being social. Letting out another sigh, Seija trudged to her room, curious to know if her roommate was there already. Looking at a sheet of paper with her room number and roommate's name, she hummed a tune to herself, "Her name seems familiar." Ever eyes peered up once she reached the building. The redhead took a deep breath and began to drag all of her things up the stairs of the dorm building.
Julien fiddled with his room key and bobbed his head slightly to the music coming from his earbuds. Unlike most people, he never had them turned up all the way. He wanted to not only save his ears from future damage but also keep his music to himself. It was also more relaxing that way, like white noise. The morning had been rather stressful, his sister having wanted to walk with him, but he managed to slip away from her while getting their room keys. He'd have all year to spend with her, so one morning without her wouldn't be so bad. The tall youth watched for his room number, noticing some already opened doors, specifically the one across from a boy. A boy who was drawing on a whiteboard. In front of his door. Julien lightly bit his lower lip while making his way over, taking his earbuds out and setting some of his things down. "..Excuse me. You're in front of my room." His voice was quiet, the discomfort of speaking with a stranger coming over him. "Could you please move..?"
Remi tied his hair in a loose bun, trying to fight the late summer heat as he made his way into the dorms. He never carried too much at once, but it was still difficult to get up the stairs with his luggage and backpack full of school supplies. The moment he walked into the building, he felt like he would melt from the cool air conditioning. Worth it, he smiled a bit and continued to find his room. Room 113. He didn't know who would be there when he got there, but he hoped they wouldn't bother him. Remi just wanted to focus on his studies and work on his own projects without being disturbed. Pushing up his glasses, he began his search through the halls, finally finding his room and lightly knocking on the door to see if his roommate had arrived already. -

Katelyn heard someone at the door. She guessed it was her roommate, so she opened the door. She took one look at the girl in front of her and turned around to go back to her sketching.
Not worth my time.
She sighed and said simply, "Katelyn."
There. All she was going to say to this person. But she had too admit, the girl was pretty. But still. -
Abel's head jerked up at the sound of a voice, and he twisted quickly to see who it was. His foot caught on the side of one of his discarded bags, and he swore that he saw his life flash before his eyes as he toppled backwards, landing hand. The white board went flying, landing pitifully on the other boy's shoes.
He took a moment to collect himself, shaking his hair out of his eyes. "U-Um. You must be my roommate, then," The other boy looked like he seriously would rather be anywhere but there, and Abel tried not to let this bother him as he climbed to his feet and stuck out his head. "Abel Carlotta. Do you, by chance, have your key? I forgot mine. I'm not even sure I ever got it.."
Charlie finished hanging up the map, stepping back to examine it as who he assumed was his roommate came in. He turned to look at her, offering her a small smile. "Fandom? Um, no it's.. I suppose it's supposed to serve as inspiration." He reached out to smooth a wrinkle from his bed sheet. "But it's on my half of the wall, so I'm not going to take it down. Just do you know."
Last year, the young jock he'd been rooming with had thrown a fit about the map. It had been the first time Charlie had almost gotten into a fight, so after that, he'd learned to be a bit more assertive. The map was the one thing he needed up.
"I'm Charlie," He offered, focusing on brushing imaginary lint off the stark white covers of his bed.
Avalon resisted the urge to jump as the door opened, quickly leaning down to pick her bag back up. She gave the grumpy-mannered girl a thin smile, quickly moving into her room. The redhead dumped her bags onto the empty bed.
"Avalon. Um, do you know when orientation starts? I left my information letter at home.."
