Ok how the hell did I not see you last post.)
Zero curled in a ball as he shivered, his wings curled around his body. His ears twitched at the sounds of fighting somewhere else in the lab and he lifted his head to look around -
Gray was hiding behind a table, gun in hand. She turned her head to see the other cops around her. "All clear?" She asked into a walkie talkie. "Attack now!" The Walkie talkie replied. Gray was the first up, surprising the mad scientist and causing him to drop his chemicals, making a red smoke appear in the air.

Zero hissed softly when he saw the red smoke pouring out of a hallway that led to the scientist work room

Gray hissed and covered her face with her hand, not daring to breath it in. A few cops began hyperventilating and a few passed out. Gray caught the scientist by the arm before he could escape. She pulled out handcuffs and locked him to a table before going past him, looking for the children.

Zero glanced at the other cages and tgen he opened his wings and flapped them a few times to drive the smoke out of the room, coughing slightly from the little bit he had breathed in. He heard one of the younger children start crying and he snarled at them

Gray kicked down a locked door, leading to a hallway. She walked into a room that held cages with children in them, or what used to be children. She gasped. Gray started stepping towards a cage, a child suddenly bursting into tears, which made her take a step back in surprise. -
Zero growled at the crying child, his tail lashing as he watched the woman and he wrapped his wings around himself

Gray took a step towards Zero. "You okay? Everything is gonna be okay. We're gonna find you a home," She said to him, or to everyone, really, hoping they could understand her. She started calling for back up to help the kids out, just in case they were resistant.

Several of the kids looked happy but. Zero just kept growling and then he moved to the center of his cage and sat down. The chain that was wrapped around his neck and attached to the ground clearly showing

Gray started unlocking the cage on Zero. Or picking the lock. Whatever you want to call it, potato putato, basically the same thing. She went in with him and started working to unhook the chain around his neck, approaching with caution.

Zero hissed at her and moved towards the back to the cage as the others watched

The backup started filing in, opening cages and leading the children to the police cruisers. Gray stayed and told the officer who insisted to help her that she got this. She started whispering soothing things to Zero, edging closer to unlock him.

Zero growled at her and he opened his wings in a threatening way in the attempt to scare her away but the shaking of his body showed how frightened he was
