"Women tend to have a softer grasp then men, leading me to believe the first two. As for Peter, when he spoke, he sounded nervous, so it would make sense that his hands would be shaking." Rayne explained, sounding as if it were as simple as counting to ten.
-
"That makes sense there." Shawn said to her, nodding his head, putting his hands in his poskets. Maria was silent for the time still smiling to her. Peter chuckled to himself nervously still. "Yeah." he said quietly to her shaking his head.
-
Rayne flashed what she hoped was a breathtaking smile. She hadn't seen herself in years... not since that damned car accident eight years ago. She refused to allow herself to think about the awful day. The sounds... the smells... She shuddered slightly.
-
Peter couldn't really help But to smile when he saw Rayne smile there, his parents has started back talking to each other quietly again as he glanced over to them. He saw her shake there, but didn't say anything about it or anything. "So... What do you we do now?" asked Shawn after a few moments.
-
Lisa smiled. "Now, there's a few things that need to be filled out in order to take in Rayne. But are you sure you want someone of her age? Only three years and she's an adult..." Rayne turned her head to her shoes, frowning. Of course Lisa is trying to get them to take someone younger and with less baggage...
-
Peter looked to Rayne seeing her frown, seeking to copy her expression before looking to his parents. "Pl-please, can she? C-can we?" he asked them. He wanted to and thought that it may help her? He wanted to himself possibly, that would help. His father looked to him hearing him, as he sighed lightly, thinking. "Yeah. We're sure." He said to Lisa. "What do we have to full out?" he asked.
-
Lisa nodded. "Alright. Come to my office for a few minutes, please." She flashed a kind smile as she lead the way, Rayne staying put and leaning against the wall. She was just waiting for them to choose a younger child. Part of her hoped they did. After all, she'd only have three more years of being alone, but the children... Not to mention the burden she would be due to her being blind.
-
Shawn and Maria nodded both, before following Lisa. "Okay." they said in unison, walking on. Peter smiled as he heard them, watching them. He was about to walk behind them, but noticed that Rayne was there leaning on the wall. Not wanting to leave her there by herself, for one part. Slowly, he walked over towards her, standing a bit from her though. A small smile imprinted on him.
-
Rayne sighed softly. "You're family is making a mistake, Pete. Lisa was right. I only have three years. There are children here who will have to stay their whole life... not to mention that I'll be more of a burden due to my... disability." She turned her head in his direction.
-
Peter looked to her a bit confused but nodded after a bit, understanding her, what she meant. "No-not a mistake, R-Ray. Three years i-is still a long t-time." He said quietly before taking a deep breath in. "You won't be a burd-burden with it. I'll...help you." he said a bit happily, trying to help her feel better, possibly.
-
Rayne forced a smile. "Thanks, Pete. It means a lot. I can't wait to have you as a brother." She managed, crossing her arms snugly over her chest. She shifted her head toward Lisa's office.
-
Peter smiled a bit More than before as he saw her smile herself. "Y-you're welcome, Ray. I'm gl-glad that you are going to b-be my sister." he said to her in reply keeping to her.
-
Rayne chuckled. "What's with the stutter? Nervous around a blind girl?" She teased playfully, obviously not meaning for it to be taken seriously. She didn't think very high and mighty of herself.
-
Peter opened his mouth to speak at first, but kept quiet for a few moments, not knowing really why. "Sorry, Ray." He said after calming himself a bit. "J-nust nervous. I...want to make a good impression?" he said in a questioning time of some sort to her, not really sure himself.
-
Rayne smiled kindly. "Just be open with me. I'd rather you be honest than to gite your tongue in fear of upsetting me. I'm hard to crack." She said, turning her head back in his direction, being sincere,
