As he was so focused on cleaning and the fact that had been incredibly stupid, he hasn't remembered to keep his fangs hidden. He looked up at the other and said openly, "I drink. I do stupid things when drunk. End of sto-" He felt the tip of one of them poke at his lip and he pulled in a surprised gasp. He closed his mouth abruptly and stood up from the floor.
-
Jasper was looking down at the older in confusion, hoping that he hadn't angered the older when Kyland looked up. His teeth were pointed and sharp like..like fangs? But what kind of human had teeth like that, ones that looked like they were meant to cut through more than food? Skin, even. And the meat..It all came rushing through the younger's head at once when he finally but two and two together. But there was no way this man was what he thought he was. They weren't real, were they? Vampires aren't real.
-
He allowed for his fangs to go down before speaking again. "Why don't I just drive you home?" He awkwardly closed the door to the refrigerator, turning around to toss the bloody paper towel into the garpage. He kicked a drop or two from his fingers before rinsing them off in the sink. "I'm a mess today, sorry. But I can drive you," he said as turned around, utterly frustrated with himself. He was upset due to the fact that he had most likely ruined something that could have been a friendship.
-
Jasper said nothing at first, chewing on the inside of his mouth for a few moments quietly until attempting to say something. "I..y-you..what?" Jasper let out a defeated sigh, taking off his beanie and running his fingers through his hair. "Are you..God, this is gonna make me sound like I've gone completely crazy." He took a deep breath before spitting out the next sentence quickly. "Areyouavampire?"
-
Kyland pulled in another breath of worry. He wasn't sure how to respond as he honestly wanted to avoid ruining everything at all costs. He crossed his arms over his chest, using his eyes to stare at the other. "I.." He let out a whimperish sigh. "Well.." He was a new vampire, of course, so he would be considered a fledgling. "Yes," he spat out as quickly as the other had questioned him.
-
Jasper literally face palmed, groaning loudly. "Goddd, this is why I can't have any friends," he whined, rubbing at his eyes before removing his hands from his face. "..Why did you offer to help me, then? You have other things you could have been doing, could have just left me alone and I would have maybe found another way home.." He hid his face in his beanie, letting the darkness of the fabric consume him as he let out another defeated whine.
-
Kyland was taken aback by this in an upset way. He made a face and looked away, apologizing. "I was just trying to help. I could have left you alone but I didn't." The truth behind just why he did it was a matter of feeling a little more human. Helping was a way that he did so. He felt his stomach churning; he wanted to vomit. When s--- hit the fan like it was at that moment, he had the tendency to get a bit upset. He tried not to visibly show much emotion as he didn't want to come off as dramatic or cliche-vampire.
-
"I get that you were just trying to help but didn't you know you were like..hungry? Or thirsty? I don't know!" Jasper felt like it was somewhat his fault. "I should have just stayed in the car," he groaned. "Am..Am I allowed to tell people about this? How can I not tell people about this? I have to tell people about this!" He reached to get his phone but realized it was still in his bag which was in Kyland's car. -
LOLOL XD
"You know, that's really f---ed up," he retorted. "I was just trying to help." As soon as the other said something about revealing the secret, the got closer to him. "You can't say anything. You'll ruin things more than when I got turned. What? You find something slightly interesting and you have to go on the Facebooks and the Pinterestings and tell people about it? And another thing, I OBVIOUSLY don't seek out little boys to drink blood from because I HAVE all this goddamn meat in mY fridge!" -
mY fridge
"I'm know, I'm not trying to be rude.." He said quietly, removing his face from his beanie and looking up at the taller. "Well, not all of us are great at keeping secrets, you know. I can't keep hidden from my parents that I drank the last can of lemonade, let alone that I met a vampire!" Jasper whimpered, becoming a bit scared as the older came closer. -
there's obvi a waver in his voice
Kyland threw his hands up in the air, trying to contain his anger. A disgusting smell plunged into nostrils -- the smell of fear. His face contorted into one of apology and he backed away, taking a few steps backwards. "You really cannot tell anyone. Please." He jammed his hands into his sweatshirt pocket, gnawing the inside of his cheek. He hoped the smell would die down. It made him feel guilty as he had frightened the younger, something that he didn't mean to happen. "I'm sorry for trying to help you." -
obvi
Jasper knew he had most likely angered the older with his comments about telling people and not being able to keep secrets and that only made him a lot more terrified. He took a slow, shaking breath. "I-I don't know what to say. How can I keep something like this to m-myself?" He pulled on the sleeve of his shirt. "Don't apologize, you didn't know you were picking up a nosy idiot.." He pursed his lips for a moment in silence before speaking. "So..the whole meat thing..Can you explain that? And I don't think you really finished eating or even started..Aren't you hungry?" -
xD
The smell intesified and he cringed, scrunching his nose up and down. The mention of meat made his stomach growl loudly. "I didn't pick up a nosy idiot. I picked up a normal human being." He scratched at his head. "Why don't I make you normal food and myself something and I can explain everything to you over a good meal?" He knew it was an absurd idea but he thought it would be reasonable to ask about. -
Jasper noticed how the man avoided the question and he didn't press, actually letting out a small giggle when he heard the man's stomach but quickly covered his mouth. He did that whenever he laughed, hating his laugh intensely. He thought that over for a moment and decided his mother would be fine without him for a while. He gave a small nod. "I guess that would be okay.."

"Take a seat in the dining room." He pointed to the room next to the kitchen which held a large dining table that matched the color of the coffee table. It had lovely woven placemats the color of the couch. Various photos of himself and his left-behind family were strung along the walls, from his eighth grade graduation to his high school ceremony. There was a brightly lit, modest chandelier above the table. "Or in the living room. I have cable and whatnot..What do you like to eat?"
