Kay, should I start?

Gunner entered the fancy hotel in California. He had traveled all day for this hit, and he wanted to quickly get it over with so he could rest. His target was Riley Jensen, who had apparently made a few enemies over the years. And not the innocent type of enemies either. Nevertheless, apparently a large population of people wanted Riley dead, and that's where he came in. His job was to make the hit quietly, get paid, and then go back to living normally. For Gunner, this had been his way of life for years. He tried not to think about what his mom and dad would think- they were killed when he was around eight by a criminal on a rampage. Gunner had escaped, but with both emotional and physical scars. Gunner would never be able to shake the memory of a hot bullet ripping through his weak shoulder. That day had inspired him since a young age- he didn't want criminals to hurt anyone else. He was revenge motivated, cold and cruel towards many criminals. If people wanted these people dead, he figured it had to be for a reason. Silently, he wanted to track down his parent's murderer and kill him, too. But he knew that would be very hard too do, likely impossible.

care_bear19 NoviceRiley smiled at the desk clerk as he took his keys and headed towards the elevator. He was glad to be back after his long stay in Japan and wanted to put a down payment on the apartment he saw as soon as possible, but it was late so he decided he would wait until the next morning. He walked across the lobby's marble floors, the wheels to his luggage squeaking behind him. He swung the key around his finger as he walked into the elevator and clicked the button to his floor. Although Japan was fun, and he learned so much, he had missed his hometown, being cozy in the familiar place. His brother, Hunter, had called him on the way to the Hotel and asked if he could come to his band's gig tomorrow. He, of course, had accepted the offer, proud of his younger brother and happy they shared the love music. The elevator dinged as he stepped out into the hallway and walked towards his room.
-
Gunner silently trailed his target. He mouthed to the person at the desk, "I'm with him." And the man silently nodded. He knew the man. He was a, erm, connection of his. Gunner needed to have a variety of connections to succeed in his profession. So far, he was the youngest person to be so successful in his profession. To be a young assassin was dangerous, a lot of people were out for his head as it was. Every kill he made, three or so more people were after his blood. This is why he had to be so safe in covering his identity and tracks. Also, he never went anywhere without two weapons, a gun, and a knife. Gunner shook off his thoughts and silently stood in the elevator. He bit his lip as it opened, silently walking down the hall. "Hey!" He called out to Riley in a happy, friendly voice.
-
care_bear19 NoviceRiley turned around, hearing someone call out. He met eyes with a tall tanned man, who looked about his age. He silently wondered who the man was, since he'd never seen him before, but put on a bright smile. "Hello. Can I help you?" he asked, and raised his eyebrows slightly. He didn't want to be rude, but he really was tired and just want to go to bed, so he hoped he could just make an excuse and head to his room.
-
"Oh, I'm sorry. I hope I'm not disturbing you but uh.." Gunner tried to think of an excuse as to why Riley should talk to him. He put a hand through his dark hair. He waltzed towards his target, merely a target, and cleared his throat. He stopped when they were about inches away. "Can you tell me where room three hundred sixteen is?" He pulled out a gun, putting the cold steel to his targets head. His hand shook, and his finger teased the trigger. He blinked a few times, unsure of why he hadn't pulled the trigger yet.
-
care_bear19 NoviceRiley froze, at first he wasn't sure what was going on. The man had put his arm up and something vold was touching Riley's head. He wasn't sure why the man had put something on his forehead and it took him a moment before it registered- it was a gun. His eyes widened slightly, and he braced but the shot didn't come. Unsure of what to do in this situation, he did what he new best. "Woah man, you don't have to do this. If you need money, I can help you but this isn't the answer. I know it's tough out there but there's no need for violence" he said, suprised at how steady his voice was, when on the inside his mind was screaming.
-
Gunner couldn't help it. He turned on the safety of his gun and slid it into his pocket. Mentally beating himself up for it, cold aggression filled his eyes. "You've made a few enemies..They're my problem now too I guess." He stated, distastefully. His mind was a warzone, 'You should have shot him while you had the chance!', 'Now he's gonna run away and find someone to kill you!' and 'Damnit Gunner, you can't have pity for people like them! They get their own fate.' But what Gunner did next was unexpected, he reached out his hand to shake, "I'm Gunner." He smiled slightly.
-
care_bear19 NoviceRiley hesitated. 'This man just had a gun to your head! Run!' his head screamed at him, but he reached out and shook Gunner's hand. 'Such an ironic name' he thought to himself. He wasn't quite sure why he didn't run. "I'm Riley... but you already knew that. And yes, I realize this. Enemies are a common thing when you get unknowningly highered by a corupt congressmen." he sighed.
-
Gunner squinted, "Yeah. They're also common when you kill people for a living." He paused for a moment, looking into Riley's eyes. "Important people." He stated boldly. "You're important then? I mean, you've gotta mean something if someone's willing to pay thousands of dollars for you to be shot by me." Gunner was a little arrogant, but he was the leading man in the industry, afterall. His dark hair appeared to be a shade darker in the dim lighting, and he scanned Riley silently as they chatted.
-
care_bear19 NoviceThe blonde scoffed. "Well, considering I'm the up and coming new political advisor to the U.S. Embassader and the youngest in the business people are threated by me. The feel they're more qualified because they've been advising longer." he rolled his blue eyes slightly. "Qualification is determined by achievement not time" he stated bluntly. He scanned Gunner, in case he needed to run, and because he was confused as to why Gunner hadn't killed him.
-
Gunner chuckled, "Sounds like me. I'm the leading one in my business. Youngest ever to have been so successful as a marksman and the most requested assassin by the general population of the US. It's a luxury, but it's not entirely the safest job with the most closure. Oh, and by the way, I don't do it for the money," He breathed out. He won't let Riley in completely, but he figured he'd explain considering he almost killed the guy a second ago. "I have enough money to last me my life, anyways."
-
care_bear19 NoviceRiley wasn't sure why Gunner was telling him all this. No matter why he did what he did, Riley still disapproved of violence and killing was still wrong in his opinion. Of course he couldn't say that. He then realized they were still in a public hallway. "Uhm, this probably isn't the best place to discuss this" he stated, glancing around to make sure no one had over heard their bizarre conversation.
-
Gunner laughed a little. "Yes, want to go into your room? I don't have a room. Yeah, I'm cheap like that." He stated with a small smirk. Gunner was still shaking a little, surprised that he was unable to do his job. He blinked away a few tears, his emotions were in a confused frenzy. Why had he saved him? There had to be some reason, but Gunner couldn't find any rational reason to why he had spared this man- no, this was a boy to him. He acted and thought like one. He couldn't find any reason to why he had spared this boy's life.
-
care_bear19 NoviceRiley tensed slightly, at the man's words. He still didn't know if he should've just ran. But if he really had wanted to kill Riley, he'd be dead. "Sure" Riley said and unlocked the door to his room, wheeling his bags in and tossing the keys onto a table. He held the door open for Gunner and smiled "Ladies first"
