Riley sighed a little and pecked Gunner on the lips "It's okay. I understand" he said and he did, even if he did feel a little wounded at Gunner cruelness. He smiled a little and tugged on Gunner "Come on, we should go before we're late"
-
"I hope I'm dressed well enough." He stated, looking down at his grey tank top and black jeans. Gunner got a little nervous- he wanted to look good in front of his lover's biological brother. He was still quite nervous, despite Riley's attempt at calming him down.
-
"Trust me when I say.." he looked Gunner up and down, with a grin "..you look fine" he finished, putting emphasis on the word 'fine'. He winked at Gunner and held the lobby door open for him.
-
Gunner chuckled a bit, wanting to jump into Riley's arms then and there. He walked out of the door, casually. That wasn't the only reason he was nervous- he was scared to be outside. So many people would be after them- and after they learned they were together- it would only get worse for Gunner and Riley.
-
Riley had that exact thought at the same time Gunner did. He guessed -and hoped- they maybe had the day before who ever Gunner worked for and who ever want Riley dead figured out that the job wasn't done, and he planned to make the most of the entire day. He smiled a little at his new plan and followed Gunner outside.
-
Gunner breathed in the fresh air, perkily. "So.. How are we getting there?" He questioned, looking to Riley with a raised eyebrow. The calm man had his arms crossed and was leaning forward, looking to the streets with a bright look in his eye. Gunner hadn't been this happy for ages- and it felt great.
-
Riley smiled at this Gunner, who seemed happy and excited. "It's just a block or two so, walk?" Riley said extending his hand for Gunner to take. He wasn't sure how Gunner felt about PDA -even though they'd just been in crowded lobby- so he gave Gunner the option.
-
Gunner nodded, taking the other's hand and swinging it as they walked. He felt alive for the first time with Riley- yes, it was bizarre. But he felt it was destiny that had brought them together. Gunner usually didn't believe in such foolish things- but in this case, Riley had made him believe.
-
Riley smiled brightly as Gunner swung their hands. He was happy with Gunner, happier than he'd been in a long long time. He made a deal with himself that he'd do whatever had to be done to keep Gunner, even if that meant breaking his 'not violent' pact. His eyes wandered the streets of the town, looking around the familiar buildings. "Did you grow up here?" he asked, looking at Gunner.
-
"No," Gunner answered, "I grew up in Pennsylvania, until I was orphaned. Then I was transferred from orphanage to orphanage- I always caused too much trouble. My final orphanage was in Iowa- until I turned eighteen. Then I decided to go into my job." He admitted. No one had ever cared about his childhood- he had always been alone, or been with drunk girls who he used for childlike entertainment. Honestly, Gunner was disgusted with himself for his past choices.
-
Riley nodded, understandably. He looked out. "I grew up in Maryland. Baltimore City, actually... until my uhm, mother killed herself" he looked at the ground " I was like 16, and then my dad he just couldn't live in the same house anymore so we moved out here. Been here ever since." he said looking at all the store. Truthfully, his mother's suicide still haunted him. That was part of the reason he wasn't violent. Even though he wasn't fond of his dad, he was extremely close with his mother, and blamed himself for not helpping her.
-
Gunner nodded, "I'm sorry." He said, not sure what to say. He then found a funny story and decided to tell it. "One time I had to be transferred to another set of foster parents because I replaced their toothpaste with vagisil, drank all their liquor, and egged their house." He grinned.
-
Riley grinned. "I can totally see you being the bad boy teen rebel all the girls fawned over" he said. He pretended to fan himself with his hand "Oh Gunner~" he said in a girly voice and giggled
-
"Not at all how that worked." Gunner corrected, giving Riley a playful slap with his free hand. "I wasn't all that great looking as a child," he explained, "My hair looked damn terrible and I was pale as f---." Gunner laughed a bit at himself.
-
Riley grinned at him as they turned a corner. "I highly doubt that, you were probably the hottest guyin school and just didn't notice it" he said, smiling. "Now you're just the hottest guy on the street and are completely aware" he said chuckling as he teased Gunner.
