Grey rested her head against the ground so that he could see her with the light of the flame. Sure, he probably couldn't recognize her, but maybe if he understood that she wasn't... suddenly, a growling sound came from the darkness behind him. She snarled back and leaped across the flame, protecting Joseph from whatever was out there.

He jumped slightly when he heard a growling noise coming from the forest, somewhere something was planning on coming to get them. He glanced up at the dragon, when he saw the beast's face he felt something slightly familiar until the growl happened.

They needed to keep moving. She stamped out the fire then reached for the human, grabbing him by the back of his hoodie. She padded off quietly through the forest, hoping they could find somewhere safe to rest for the night. With Joseph so close, his scent filled her nostrils more than anything else. Still, she could detect the place where she and her mother would camp, ever so faintly. Grey rushed off in that direction, knowing that their space was empty and available for use. -

Joseph was lifted up again like a doll as the dragon rushed off again to a new place. He watched the forest move past him and looked up at the dragon, trying to see it in the dark and failing. Maybe this beast wouldn't eat him, well he hoped.
