Lovino straightened up in his seat a little bit, looking doubtful. "...I'm Mason." He replied. "Do you always enjoy meeting people in random cafes or am I just lucky?" He asked, slightly sarcastic. Lovino was relieved that Antonio had gotten his line right that time.
-
Antonio leaned forward, setting his chin in his hand and his elbow on the table. "You're lucky, because I work right next door and my break usually isn't for another two hours. Buuut, today I was so tired my boss let me come over and get a cup of coffee. Do you usually sit by yourself reading uninteresting newspapers?"
-
Lovino raised an eyebrow. "Well, I did help to write this 'uninteresting' newspaper, so yes." A tiny smile tugged at the corners of his lips, though it made Lovino a bit nervous to do so. He'd heard about Antonio's recent breakup on the news, some French male model or something. He also knew that if the paparazzi was right, Antonio had a habit of flirting with even the straightest people.
-
Antonio's confident smile faded, and he gave the man an apologetic look. "Sorry, I didn't mean that. Besides, I haven't read it yet, so I wouldn't know. Did you really write it?" Antonio's eyes never left Lovino's for more than a few seconds, and this wasn't hard, because the Italian had the most beautiful amber eyes.
-
Lovino looked down, studying the paper for a moment before gazing up at Antonio through his eyelashes. "Just a few articles." he shrugged. "Nothing good." He allowed himself to blush ever so slightly. At first Lovino had thought it would be hard for a very straight guy to be playing a doe-eyed, innocent, gay character. But staring at Antonio wasn't so bad. He didn't look quite so flirtatious anymore, just kind, a relief for the Italian.
-
Antonio leaned over the table, once again making an attempt at reading from the pages. Not really, though, because the whole thing was just jibberish. But, he tried to make it look like he was. "Can I read some? Some of what you wrote?"
-
Lovino hurriedly grabbed at the paper, clutching it to his chest and blushing darker. "I-It's nothing good," he insisted again. "I-I should go actually, I'm going to be late..." Lovino heard the slight shift of the cameras around them as he stood up, still clutching the paper.
-
Antonio looked up, apparently startled that the other was so worried about Antonio reading the paper. "Wait, but," he stood up, trying to block Lovino from leaving. "Can I have your number or something? Maybe?"
-
Lovino pursed his lips. "I don't even know you," he argued softly, but he was already jotting random numbers down on a napkin. "I really am going to be late though, excuse me." He pushed the napkin into Antonio's hands, internally cringing when their hands touched, and stepped around him, walking quickly off the set. The director grinned. "That was great, guys. You can all take a few minutes." The extras seated at the surrounding tables all stood up to go. "I think we're going to shoot the rain scene today, too. It's pouring outside, and I want it to look realistic. Is that okay with you two?" Startled, Lovino nodded without thinking. He'd known they wouldn't go in order, but...The scene in the rain didn't come until much later. Mason and Santiago had some sort of disagreement, and after a lot of yelling, they...kissed. A lot. All deep and passionate and s---. Lovino shuddered. Did they really expect him to make out with someone he'd just met?
-
Antonio couldn't helo but notice that Lovino's hands were so soft, and warm and-- ah, but he shouldn"t think that, because he knew Lovino's demeanor was that he didn't sway that way. So, when the shot was over, he nodded curtly. "Alrighty!" He chirped, and hopped away from the set, going to the snacks table.
-
Lovino considered grabbing something to eat for himself, but Antonio was over that way, the last person he wanted to see right now. Honestly, how was he supposed to kiss someone he'd just met that morning? Sure, Antonio was attractive, but Lovino wasn't attracted to him. He just... didn't feel that way. But the thought of standing so close, those same green eyes staring at him and only him, kissing him intensely in the rain... The thought made Lovino blush, then curse at himself for blushing. He did not want that.
-
Antonio opted just for an apple, since he didn't want to get his mouth all gross for the kissing scene. Humming, he went back around towards Lovino, chomping on his apple. "Hey, Lovino, can I talk to you?"
-
Lovino jumped about a foot in the air, whirling around. He bit his lip to keep from yelping another curse. "S-Sure," he managed, taking a tiny step back just in case Antonio tried anything.
-
Antonio noticed Lovino stepping back, and though it hurt his feelings, he brushed it off. "I just wanted to say hi, since we've never really met each other. You're a great actor! Did you go to school for it?"
-
Lovino eyed him suspiciously, trying to figure out if he was trying anything. But he looked innocent enough, so Lovino answered him rather than running off. "Um... yeah, I did. I've wanted to since I was a kid." He replied cautiously. "What about you?" If he was going to have to kiss this guy (not to mention the other scenes they'd have to film, but at least they wouldn't actually have to do that) he might as well get to know him a little bit.
