The receptionist knew who she was and had motioned for her to wait a minute. The woman went off to see if the principal was free. Ash but her lip and sighed. She was able to say "Arturo, I'm a- " when the receptionist came back. "Ashley.. He's ready to see you now." She stared at the receptionist for a minute before turning back to Arturo, giving him a "now you know" face.

Arturo's eyes went wide when he realized the truth. "You're a chick," he said softly, looking down at Ash. He didn't know what he felt for Ash anymore after that. He took a deep breath. "Now you know what I meant when I said girls were fake." He walked out the office, needing to get away from people for a while.

Ashley slowly nodded. She inhaled sharply at his comment and painfully watched him leave. Miserably, she went back to the principal's office and listened to the man drone on.

"Fake ass b----..Just like every other fake ass girl in this school," he said to himself, going to his locker. He had trouble getting it open because his hands were shaking. "Thought I had finally found a guy I liked..but nope! Just a chick," he huffed, opening up his locker and getting his stuff out.

She was able to make the principle get straight to business, and she was enrolled in the right class soon after. She left the office, head down as usual. She came across two people in the hall. When the "accidentally" bumped her, she ignored them and kept on going. She found a random deserted hallway and sat down, back against a row of lockers.

He got his bag and slung it over his shoulder, taking a deep breath as he shut his locker closed. He didn't really feel like going to the rest of his classes for the day, so he decided to go somewhere fun. He opened up his wallet that had at least 3k in it and walked down the hallway humming.

That's when Ash let herself cry. No one else was around, and they wouldn't be for a while. She was past caring anyways. She buried her face in her knees and sobbed.

Arturo could hear someone crying from the hallway he was in, and he knew who it was, and he realized it was her fault for lying. He was going to talk to her but decided against it and went out the front doors, hailing a taxi and getting into the backseat.

She sat there crying until the bell rang. She mutely got up and zombied the way through the rest of the day.

Arturo decided just to ride home, seeing as his parents were both working.

Ash sulked through her computer, gym, and other classes. She took notes and such, but her mind was fuzzy.

When Arturo finally ended up getting home, he decided just to nap. He stayed asleep until around five when he heard his parents storming up the steps. "Arturo!" He heard his father growl. The door to his bedroom swung open and Arturo covered himself with a blanket since he was only wearing boxers. "Explain to us why you missed half of your classes right now!" His mother yelled. His mother never yelled. Arturo gulped and shrugged.

Ash went home and got the exact same treatment as yesterday.

After a long lecture about how important his grades and attendance were, he ended up getting grounded for three weeks and couldn't leave the house unless it was to go to school or dinner with the family. When he brought up the project, his parents said that was his own problem. He didn't eat dinner for the second night in a row and went straight to bed after that.

Having leftover homework, Ash didn't get to bed until around 1 in the morning. She decided that four hours were better than none and fell asleep.
