"I will provide you with whatever you need, darling." It felt and sounded strange for Lucas to use words of endearment. His lack of a connection with normal human emotions was more than likely a key cause as to why his experiment failed so often. But he didn't know that. To Lucas, the way he acted was normal. It was what he was used to, his acting ability being worse than a just-starting-out actor's. Which was why he wrote instead of acting.
-
Landon raised his eyebrows, but didn't question what Lucas had said. "So what do I have to do..?" He asked quietly, somewhat afraid of what the answer might be. Landon moved closed to Lucas, not because he wanted to, but because the roses in a glass vase only a few feet away from him was makin his throat feel tight, as if he couldn't breathe. Not wanting to risk an allergic reaction, Landon stood only a inches away from Lucas.
-
"Just act like we're together at all times, especially when we're alone. Let out your emotions to make it as real as possible. I know that seems strange to ask, but if you're angry about something, react the way a wife would to her husband. Or if you feel lonely, do something that will grab the attention of your significant other. Everything you do will be recorded by me to incorporate it into the perfect script." Lucas tried to explain as best he could, helping the other stay clear of the flowers. He then noticed the luggage and moved to take it from him. "From what I've learned, a good husband, and gentleman, would take his wife's baggage, so she won't have to have unecessary strain."
-
Landon released his tight grip on his suitcase and nodded. "I understand..Thank you." Landon shifted his weight from foot to foot, very uncomfortable in the situation he was in at the moment. Charlie came rushing back about a minute later with two bottles of champagne. He handed them to Landon. "These are for you two. Free of charge~" Landon held the bottles to his chest. Before Landon could remain him again that he was underage, Charlie was already back at the bar.
-
Lucas looked at his pretend wife an smiled. "You know, legally, you can drink in the home so long as an adult is around to supervise. Or maybe that's just parents or guardians..." The scriptwriter pondered to himself for a moment then shrugged, leading Landon out of the bar. "Well, if you ever want to try anything, you can do so in my home..our home."
-
Landon gave Lucas a small smile back. He followed his fake husband outside the bar, clutching the glass bottles in his hands. "England is so much different from America.." He thought, not meaning to say it out loud.
-
"Aye, it is. England is much older, and more refined in my opinion. But I don't know America that well, maybe we can exchange information about our homelands some time." Lucas waved and whistled for a cab to stop for them until one either took notice or wasn't already carrying a passenger. "Do you have cabbies where you're from, Landon?" He asked casually as he put the suitcase in the trunk of the transportation.
-
Landon decided to hold the champagne to make sure the bottles wouldn't bust during the ride. "They have some cabbies in places like New York City, but there aren't very many in California. People either walk to wherever they're going or drive their own car." Landon opened the door to the cab and slid into the backseat.
-
"California, huh? How is the entertainment scene there? Clearly Hollywood is where the big ones are at, but I want to know about the rest of the state." Lucas had his notepad and pen in hand again, always ready to take notes about any kind of valuable information.
-
"Well.." Landon thought for a moment, then answered. "Almost everyone in California wants to be a star. There's plenty of people there would do anything to become the next big thing there. I know some who would give up being paid as long as they got to do something that could boost them up in the entertainment business. But, like I said, everyone wants to be a star. Whether it be on television, behind the scenes, p--- star, whatever.."
-
"Fascinating how easily fame can manipulate the average man or woman." Lucas murmured as he wrote the quick and simple notes. He think flipped to a new page, looking back up at Landon. "Did you ever want to be famous, too? Or did you have other things in mind for your future?"
-
Landon shook his head. "I never wanted to ever be famous and I don't believe I ever will want too. I don't like when too much attention is drawn towards me, so I wouldn't be able to live that life. As far as my future goes, I have no clue. Maybe an author or painter would suit me well."
-
"So you do want to be famous, just not in the hollywood sense." He smiled as he wrote and looked at Landon when he finished, his gaze demonstrating his interest in the younger male. "An author.. If you ever want any tips to help with that, feel free to ask me. I may be a script writer, but I've been looking to expand my horizons towards novels."
-
Landon tilted his head slightly to the right, thinking what he had said through. "I want to be one of those 'Anonymous' authors, if you know what I mean. And I might just take you up on that offer."
-
"Or create an alias. Some anonymous authors like to create an alias, so they know when their work is recognized and it can'tbe plagerized as easily. Sometimes if multiple authors are working on a book, they'll find a way to create a name they agree with, so there isn't any confusion among the readers." Lucas nodded lightly, and he took a moment to point the cab driver in the right direction then turned back to Landon. "I will tell you whatever you want to know."
