"Food," he told her. "It's back in the wreckage." He watched as she took a sip from the bottle, curious.
-
She blinked and shrugged. "Well my people are probably already there, so we can't go back." She saw him watch her drink for the bottle and held out the other one out to him. "I was going to give this to you before you turned back into..." she gestured to all of him. "Your normal self."
-
"What is it?" Blink asked suspiciously. He pulled his legs up onto the couch, then quickly put them back down again, remembering his talons. The reptile let out an involuntary yawn.
-
She blinked and sighed a bit, a small smile appeared on her lips. "It's a soda, orange flavored. It's something you drink and it's bubbly and fizzy." She watched him yawn. "You seem either tired or bored." She shrugged. "And you could have put your feet up, I can fix the couch. It doesn't take very much to do that."
-
He scrunched up his nose. "Disgusting. And unless you can fix it yourself, I won't. You don't want anyone knowing I was here." The reptile flicked his tail back and forth, then glanced at his wrist. "Do you want me to change back?"
-
She pouted about him saying pop was disgusting. " I can fix it myself, I went to fabrication school for furnishing." She paused for a moment when he asked about changing back. "Well...I'd be comfortable with it. But I'll be going to sleep soon anyways so." She stood up slowly. "I have a guest bed room, not like it's ever been used..."
-
"You realize that I'm leaving tomorrow, don't you?" he asked. Satisfied with the answer, he pulled his legs back up on the couch and stared at the ceiling. He hadn't slept since he'd left home, and was truly exhausted.
-
She sighed lightly and mumbled under her breath. "Have fun trying to leave without me." She started walking to her room. "If you need me I'm the first door to your left, bathroom is second door on the right." She opened her door and rushed inside quickly, closing it behind her. Soon after she started getting dressed and crawled under the covers on her bed, trying to sleep.
-
Blink watched her leave, the fidgeted with the band on his wrist again. A series of scrolling headlines appeared, and he figured it would be a good idea to check out the news from home before going to bed. The clock feature told hom it was about time at home to wake up, but his internal clock told him he needed as much sleep as he could get, whenever possible. The reptile stood and headed for the guest bedroom.
(I have a feeling that lizard is an offense term for him.) -
(True.)
She almost was able to go to sleep, but she heard her visitor starting to walk down the hall. She sat up for a moment, but thought against it. She lied back down to try to fall asleep again, but it didn't seem possible. -
He collapsed on top of the bed, sprawled out awkwardly. The bed was much shorter than those he was used to, and he found himself trying to curl up so he could fit. Eventually, he realized how cold her was, and slowly crawled under the covers, letting out a swear from his native language when he realized one of his claws had poked through the sheets. Despite the unfamiliarity of the apartment, he fell asleep almost immediately after getting comfortable.
-
Sadie stayed awake for the rest of the night, until her alarm on her watch went off, causing her to shoot up quickly. "Ugh..." she groaned. "Another night of no sleep." She got out of the bed in her fuzzy zebra print pajamas and walked out of her room. She got to the kitchen and started a pot of coffee.
-
Blink slept the entire night, spare one time at about 2 AM that he got up to use the restroom. When he finally woke up, he slowly made his way back into the living room, and collapsed on the couch. He was really not the morning type. He figured he should probably transform back, and pressed the tiny button. After enduring the brief pain, he rolled over and shut his eyes, not bothering to fix his messy hair.
-
She watched him flop onto the couch and change back, causing her to notice his messy hair. She shook her head lightly and heard the coffee maker go off. She grabbed the pot quickly and poured a cup of it.
-
The reptile opened one eye and glared at her as the coffee maker went off. "It's too early for that. Stop." Then he realized he didn't know her name.
