"Look kid," her eyes drifted over to the tiny child who was making grabby hands towards her puppy. "She's what we call a Black Mark." AJ shook her head slowly and looked back at the boy. "No one wants.. New. Young. That's why all the kids got killed first when the world turned.." Her eyes darkened some and she picked up Jasper. "Names Alisa, most call me AJ."

"I'm Ray. This is my sister, Miranda. I know perfectly well that all the kids were killed but I can tell you that's not going to happen to her." He said, his voice low. He'd already lost enough of his family. Miranda and that stupid cat were all he had left, and he was intent on protecting them.

"Nice to meet you.." Her eye drifted to the sun slowly making it's way down. She cursed silently and looked at him with slight disdain. "Do you mind if I crash here for the night? I don't like moving around in the dark." She looked up at him with her strange eyes and blinked a few times.

Ray sighed. He wasn't sure if he could trust the girl, but he'd slept through most of the day anyway, so he could easily stay up to watch over her and Miranda. He answered her with a curt nod. "Yeah. Yeah, sure. I've got some extra blankets if you want."

"Thanks." Alisa suddenly seemed very pariniod and skittish as she picked up her skate board and followed him slowly. Her eyes darted around as she checked out every corner of the place and sighed softly.

Ray noticed the girl's sudden on-edge behavior and tilted his head curiously. "You running from someone?" He asked. It wasn't uncommon for people to start acting in charge, expecting food and supplies from weaker survivors. He wondered if the girl had missed a payment or something. -
Alisa shook her head and rubbed her face with one hand. "Not exactly.. I just don't trust the dark anymore. People tend to change at night.. More, savage." She sighed and looked down at the little girl. "How old is she?"
