"The Master is waiting." The small boy said, smiling. To anyone else, this might seem acceptable. To Veriti it felt like a death sentence.
"Take me to them." Veriti replied, her voice scarcely a whisper.
The boy nodded, and started down the hall. Veriti followed silently. This seemed to unnerve the boy, who glanced behind himself, multiple times.
Veriti sighed. The kid was probably wondering if her feet touched the ground, or some other absurd thing. The truth was her aura blocked out all noise, it was a simple trick everyone in her village could of learned.
She got to the door, and was immediately ushered inside, to receive her 'poison'. -
The silence was unnerving. Nicholas much preferred it to the shouting of the crowd, but it still bothered him. The forest seemed oddly empty, no bird calls or the rustling of other animals hunting and running.
He sat hunched back into one corner of the cage, trying to ignore the dull ache of his empty stomach. He hoped the villagers might be kind enough to bring him food, but he knew it was unlikely.
Nicholas gazed out through the shining bars of his prison and sighed. Perhaps he convince any passerbys to let him go. The only problem was that no one seemed to be passing by. -

[It's okay, happens to us all.xD]
Walking down the path into the forest, she clutched her spell book to her chest. To be honest, she didn't need it, but it made her feel more secure. And, to be fair, the only spells she knew by memory were mostly healing spells.
She soon came upon the clearing with the cage, and walked over, looking at him curiously.
He didn't look like a demon...could the Order of made a mistake? -
Nicholas's eyes widened as a girl entered the clearing. "Hey!" He called out, hoping to catch her attention. "Hey, can you help me? Please?" He tried to look as innocent and vulnerable as possible. "I swear, I'm human, I don't know why I'm here..." He said, hoping he could appeal to her sympathetic side.
-
"....Prove it." She said, looking up at him. In all honesty, she already beloved him, but she couldn't just release him.
She knew the punishment would probably be worse then this boy's. Much worse. She shuddered, terrified to think of it. And of course, if she screwed up, there was the threat they'd made toward her village.
No, this man would have to prove himself. -
He gave her a desperate, pleading look. "...How? I look human, I act human. I am human. I don't know what I can do to prove it to you, but please, you have to help me..." Nicholas wracked his brain for any ideas of how he could trick the girl. Even if she did let him go, he'd have to hide her. She might still be suspicious, and if she told anyone else he'd definitely be killed.
-
"...Fair enough." She sighed. She didn't know how he'd prove it, either.
She placed a hand on the cage. The metal sparked when she touched it, and if it weren't for her aura it would of burned her flesh. She muttered under her breath, and the cage bars opened.
She began thinking about how she could explain the lack of a body to the Knights. -
Nicholas sighed in relief and practically leapt out of the cage- and straight for the girl. He wrapped his arms firmly around her, his non-human strength helping him to hold her. "Sorry," He muttered. "But I can't risk anything." He covered her mouth with one hand, knowing that they were still close enough to the village to be heard if she screamed.
-
Her eyes widened at the sudden action, and she was shocked into silence. She cursed herself. The Order never made mistakes! How could she of been so stupid?!
Her eyes glowed faintly as she examined his aura, looking for a weak spot. Of course, as a demon, his aura was foggy to her, and she cursed herself again. -
Apologizing once more, he lifted the girl easily into his arms. He set off quickly through the forest, knowing they had to get away from the village. He was fairly certain there was an older abandoned house on the other side of the forest, and he could hide the girl and himself there for the time being.
-
All she could do was let him take her, and it infuriated her to no end.
She didn't struggle, though, as she knew her strength, and it wasn't physical at all. Instead, she wracked her brain for the best spell to use once he uncovered her mouth. -
It wasn't long before he reached the house. The trip was fast and easy, which surprised Nicholas, who had expected her to shout or struggle. He set her down inside the house, but kept a firm grip on her arm. He had to make sure she didn't try to escape. "I really am sorry, but they'll kill me if they found out what I really was, especially after I tricked you." He said quickly.
-
After hearing that, the spell stuck in her throat, and she glared.
"Yes, and now they'll kill me, for insubordination and desertion." She replied coolly, examining the interior of the house.
"So, what are you going to do with me?" She asked, voice remaining quiet and neutral.
