Lovino's stomch flipped when Antonio let go of him, but he managed to clamber off Maira safely, shyly patting the elephant as a thanks. "That was... fun." he said, half to himself.

Antonio slipped off after Lovino, leading the elephant up to her carriage. "Yeah? I though you would enjoy it, you always seem interested in them."

"They're...impressive." He reached out to stroke Maira's head gently. "You're really close with Antonio, aren't you?" he whispered with a smile. "Better get used to sharing," he added with a tiny smile, petting her gently.

Maira trumpeted softly, her trunk reaching to Lovino's hand. She grabbed it, gently, and huffed air out. "She likes, you, see, she wants you to hold her trunk, how cute!"

Lovino pursed his lips, carefully moving his hands to hold Maira's trunk and rubbing it gently. "Am I, uh, doing this right?" He asked, not taking his eyes off Maira.

Maira seemed to appreciate Lovino holding her and petting her, because she didn't move at all. "Mhm," Antonio hummed. He stepped closer, petting her ear. "Elephants have close emotional bonds, just like people do. They get excited, happy, and when they're sad they even cry. She really likes you, Lovi, isn't that sweet? They read people, they know if you're nice or not, and she knows you're nice."

"Nice?" Lovino gave the elephant a dubious look. "I don't know about that, but I guess this bumps the munber of people who don't hate me up to two." he smiled softly and patted her trunk.

Antonio giggled, watching Lovino be so gentle with such a big creature. "You're very nice, Lovi, I promise." He went up to him, and kissed the side of his head.

Lovino blushed, leaning into Antonio's side, kissing his cheek. "Well, I'm glad you think so." he admitted, flushing pink. Even though it was only the elephants watching them, he was still a little embarrassed.

Antonio smiled at Lovino's little kiss to his cheek, enjoying the small gesture. "I think we should get Maira to her carriage now," he hummed, gesturing towards it. "She's probably hungry."

Lovino nodded, giving her trunk one last rub before letting go and moving aside for Antonio to lead Maira and Gorro back into their carriages.

Antonio did just that, holding out his own hand which Maira took immediately. He walked her into her carriage, then left, shutting the door behind himself. "To my carriage or your's, Lovi?" He asked, smiling.

"Yours," he responded almost immediately. "I've been stuck in mine so long, and..." he trailed off. The picture of his parents was in his wagon, and he had no desire to look at his father at the moment.

"Alright," Antonio agreed, taking his hand. "I've got some whisky in my carriage. We can have a drink without worrying about being in public," he said, remembering the last time they were drunk and it not going so well.
