Yeah, at least I though it was XD unless you don't want it to be, I dun really care
Okie -
The sun was setting, causing the trees to cast their shadows down onto the soft, black earth. He skulked through the trees, searching for a clearing large enough to take off from. He had been a tall human, but was nearly three times taller in this form, which made hiding and flying difficult. Once he reached one, Aidan spread his wings, which matched the sunset's orange, and pushed himself up into the sky. He could only fly at night, thanks to the humans nearby. As he flew somewhat closer to the tiny human town, his eyes swept the ground, searching for potential prey. He wasn't interested in the humans themselves, but some of the deer in the forest had grown somewhat domesticated and would linger near the edges.
-
The setting sun cast a golden glow over the small town, stripes of fading amber light bursting between the tall, aged trees. Cyrus walked among those trees, the lateness of the evening stretching his shadow. He had no particular destination, but it was peaceful to just fake a walk through the woods sometimes. He never strayed too far from town of course, but it was enough for him.
-
While being a dragon would have never been his first choice, the feeling of the wind under his wings was a sensation he would never want to give up. He flapped them twice to gain elevation and rode the wind for a while. Eventually, he would have to fly much lower in order to hunt, but he would have to wait a little for it to get darker.
-
Finally glancing up, Cyrus noticed the dying light. He shook his head slightly to himself; he hadn't meant to be out so late. His father would be upset. He sighed and turned back, stepping quickly over fallen leaves as he made his way back to the town. His mind wandered to the rumors he'd heard floating around. One about a great dragon who used to scour the forest and kidnap innocent people. He stifled a laugh, some people would believe anything. Of course there was no dragon.
-
As the sky started to darken, he flew closer to the ground, watching for any possible prey. He followed the first movement he saw, thinking that it was big enough to be a deer. Once the trees were sparse enough, he swooped down and landed just in front of what he thought would be his next meal. He swiped out one of his large paws and pinned down his prey-- only to discover it was a terrified human.
-
Cyrus saw a flash in front of him, heard a sound like enormous wings beating, and then he was knocked flat on his back, pinned down by some enormous...thing. His heart was pounding hard and fast and he struggled to free himself. "L-Let go of me!" He yelped, looking up and freezing, his eyes wide. The creature above him was enormous, and unmistakably...a dragon.
-
Startled and, honestly, a little confused, the dragon lifted his paw off of the human. It seemed just as unsure of what to do as he did. somewhere, he could hear better prey fleeing as a result of his accidental attack, but was too preoccupied with the human before him to even consider chasing after it.
-
OMG IM SORRY I FELL ASLEEP LAST NIGHT SORRY ;n;)
Cyrus swore and scrambled back, jumping frantically to his feet. He stared up at the dragon, which was giving him a curious and almost unsure look. "You're...not here to kidnap me, are you?" He asked, half sarcastically. -
Aidan pondered it, looking the human over. He couldn't let him go back to the human town and tell them about him... but at the same time, he wasn't too keen on taking home something that he'd be better off killing in the forest. He made up his mind, and grabbed the human by the back of his shirt. He started to make his way back home on foot.
-
"Woah!" Cyrus yelped again as he was lifted clear off the ground, his feet kicking helplessly beneath him. "H-Hey, that was a joke! Let go of me!" He protested, trying to shift so that he could glare up at the dragon. But it was no use, his dangling position left his range of motion quite limited.
-
Trying not to swing the human too much, he eventually broke into a trot. By now, it was almost completely dark, probably to the point that the human couldn't see.
-
-
Cyrus gave up in his struggles, falling silent and hanging limply from the great beast's grasp. He could barely see through the darkness, and had no idea where he was being taken, or if he'd ever go back. He bit his lip and tried to make out some sort of shapes, but all he could see were fuzzy shadows.
-
There was no way he'd be able to fly with the small creature, more for hisbenefit than the dragon's. He broke into a run and reached his lair about twenty minutes later.
Aidan padded toward his lair, still holding the human by the back of his shirt. Leading out from the center of the entry were a set of old, rusted tracks. While they had been mostly buried outside, it was clear on the inside that the old cave had once been used for mining. He wandered about two hundred yards in, then set down the human so he could light a small fire on a pile of wood. They still hadn't reached what the dragon considered to be his lair, but the human was probably somewhat terrified.
