She looked at the ring in her hands then up at Xavier. He seemed happy about something. "Then what does it mean Xavier." She moved the ring around in her hand before slipping it on, it fit perfectly. She sat down on her bed.
-
"I don't know.. Did you feel it? The old magik?" He asked looking towards her. He had felt it, it felt wild and untamable but also right and welcoming in his veins. He sat down and looked back at the painting and started to go back to painting.
-
She frowned lightly, she felt something, it felt oddly familiar to her. She stood up and walked over to him. "I don't know what I felt Xavier." She frowned more and saw Nightmare trot into the room. She picked him up quickly.
-
Xavier sighed and continued to paint quietly for a moment. "Sadie.. I have to tell you something." He hunched his shoulders slightly as if the weight of the world was on his shoulders. "I'm not normal.. I'm a sorcerer." He didn't say anything for a moment.
-
She stopped petting Nightmare and turned towards him. "Yeah and I'm an elf." She rolled her eyes. "Not the best way to pick up a chick you know."
-
Xavier stood up and crossed his arms over his chest and looked at her. "I'm not even kidding." He huffed and flexed his hand and the paint brushes behind him rose into the air and started to paint the wall for him.
-
She blinked and watched the paint brush. "Nice parlor trick." She rolled her eyes again and glanced at him, she seemed to really want to believe him, but she just didn't feel like that it was possible.
-
"I'm not kidding Sadie! Look what we just went through!" He groaned and rubbed his face with irritation. The paint brushes dropped and the wind started to kick up around them in the room suddenly.
-
She panicked and held onto Nightmare, the cat hissing at Xavier. "Stop Xavier!" She yelled at him as Nightmare growled more at him.
-
"Do you believe me now?" He asked quietly as the wind whipped around him and his eyes blazed orange. "It's not a game Sadie!" He yelled back and suddenly the wind stopped and everything was still. "It's not a game.." He repeated quietly this time and his eyes dulled to a soft golden brown.
-
She glared at him as Nightmare squirmed out of her arms and hissed at Xavier, clawing at his leg. Glancing over at her desk she saw a picture broken on the floor. She knew that picture to well. "Get. Out." She growled lowly at him. She believed him now yes, but she was pissed the only picture of her mother was probably ripped.
-
Xavier flicked his hand and the picture fixed itself before he disappeared. He appeared in the woods by his house and yelled in frustration. He had only once ever told a mortal about his life, and she died for it. Yelling in anger he started to hit things with both fist and his mind. Tree limbs cracked and fell around him and roots started to get yanked from the ground.
-
She collapsed onto the floor and sighed lightly, laughing a bit to herself. "Magic is real..." she laughed more, she was losing her mind because of this. "Why..." she looked at nightmare, who was nuzzling her knee and purring. He seemed to be trying to calm her down.
-
Xavier didn't remember much after awhile as he tore up the trees around him. He ended up passing out huddled up against a tree with his head ducked in his arms and his shirt sticking to his chest with sweat.
-
She looked over at the picture that had been fixed. She crawled over to it quickly as she looked at her mother's face, trying to remember. When she was ten her mother told her a story, she always was better than her father, when she said it was a true story about their ancestors and magic. Her father stormed into the room and yelled at her mother for fill her head with stories. She reached for her phone on the bed. I'm sorry...I believe you and I'm sorry...
