Yeah, people do that too! They mainly just use this format:
C1 is a (blablablabla) C2 is a (blablabla) (Then basically you just enter the plot) -

(And you can choose if your person is hurt.) -
Also roleplays use * or - for actions. Ex *runs through the hallway*
