Rosario wanted to shove Arcelio out of the way and take off, but he didn't. He couldn't help but raise his voice, though. "No, it's not! Nothing's okay!" The car alarm was still blaring, and the raven-haired boy was getting upset.
-
Arcelio stayed in Rosario's way, still unsure if he intended to go off. He was worried about it happening, and the boy getting lost or hurt or scared and alone. Not only that, but the boy right in front of him was obviously feeling scared and alone. "Just take a breath. If you want to go back to the house, that's okay, we can go back to the house. But I promise that there is nothing that will hurt you anymore."
-
"Just... Just shut up!" He wouldn't say it, but he did want to go home. Not with Arcelio, though, but with his father. He didn't want the other man around, nor his cousins.
-
Arcelio swallowed, feeling helpless to the fact that he had no idea how to parent Rosario. He was very, very different than Daniel, and absolutely nothing like Angel. The best he could think to do was to deal with it like when Daniel was going through his whiny teenager stage- it was the last thing he wanted to do, but he yelled at him. "Car!" He shouted, gesturing at the vehicle. "Go, get in the car, right now! We're going home."
-
Rosario stood for a moment, edged on by Arcelio's screaming. But he spun on his heel, and headed off to do as he was told.
At that moment, a women walked out of one of the stores, holding the arm of a red-haired man. She herself had dark black hair, tied back in a bun.
Janelle hadn't changed a bit. -
Arcelio put his hands on his face, dragging them down wearily before walking behind Rosario on the way back to the car. It was only a few feet away, and when he reached it, the man turned his head to glance at the stores.
His heart stopped in his chest. There was Janelle- for the love of God, everything seemed to be going so wrong all of a sudden. -
Rosario slid against the side of the car, glaring at the ground. He was still upset, and wasn't feeling all that well. He was pretty sure he just needed to go home and lay down for a bit, maybe sleep. The hair cut would have to wait another day.
At the moment that Arcelio caught sight of them, Janelle whipped her head around, pulling away from Corrin as a little girl ran out of the store, happily attaching herself to the women's leg. She was followed by a boy about Rosario's age, with sandy blonde hair, and piercing blue eyes- Ocean, Corrin's boy.
The man waited for the three of them to catch up, and then, after catching Arcelio's eyes for a split second, directed the group to the left, and away from Arcelio. -
Arcelio couldn't help but stare for a few moments longer than needed. Two kids were with them, and they both didn't seem to be suffering by such fact. When Corrin started leading them away, Arcelio was even more sure that they weren't intending to cause any trouble, and he turned around to Rosario. He would have opened the door for the boy, but he was leaning up against it. "Are you feeling alright?"
-
"Just fine," He said, his tone heavy with sarcasm. He was still mad at Arcelio, and didn't feel like talking to him at the moment, but it wasn't avoidable. "Can we call Dad, please?" He knew his father was at work, but he still felt like he needed to talk to him. After a moment, Rosario shoved himself off the door, and turned to face Arcelio.
-
Arcelio thought for a second. Rayson was at work, but... He would probably accept a call from his son. Without a word, he pulled his phone out of his pocket and speed-dialed Rayson, holding the phone up to his ear.
-
Rayson picked up almost instantly, as he always did when Arcelio called. "Babe? Something wrong?" Normally, he never asked that, but with recent events, he couldn't help it.
-
"No, we're fine. Ro just wants to talk to you. Here, I'm giving him the phone." Arcelio, true to his word, held the phone out to the boy.
-
(You know when you get your foot caught in something and you have that moment of panic where you're like "great now I have to cut off my foot" and then you get it out and it's such relief.
That just happened.
With a shopping cart.)
Rosario took the device, holding it loosely to his ear. After a few moments of talking to his father, explaining what had just happened, and flat-out calling Arcelio a dick, he handed the phone back. -
(I've done that with my toe in a water bottle once)
Arcelio wasn't liking the comments being made about him, right to his face nonetheless, so when he received the phone back he sighed out a "Hello." -
(what
how even
I want to hear the story now Mia how did this happen)
Rayson's voice held little humor, and it was clear that he wasn't too pleased with his fiance. "I though you said nothing was wrong! Why are you even still in the parking lot? You should have left and then called me!"
