The crystal ball shook for a moment and no picture came up of Clark. Fuzzy words appeared inside of it saying. "This isn't the one you truly seek."
Will sat for a few minutes with no answer and finally went to cook something. She started making a simple thing of food. She got better since Brenda started teaching her how to cook. -
Maria sighed and glared at the ball, turning away from it stubbornly. "I don't want to see him." She protested, feeling slightly foolish for talking to an inanimate object.
-
The ball shook again and a child like voice came out of it. "That's not what your heart says~" a giggle came after those few words.
-
Maria jumped and glared directly at the crystal ball. "It doesn't matter what my heart says." She argued. "He doesn't want me anymore."
-
It giggled again. "You're lying to yourself you know~" it flickered for a moment and showed Sebastian sitting in his room, not moving only to blink. Brenda was there yelling at him. Her voice came clear through that crystal. "What do you mean you quit?! Quit living because she's no here?" Sebastian didn't say anything and she sighed. "Please Sebastian...for her and the baby eat please." He turned and glanced at her. "It will be better for both of them if I wasn't here...they would be happier." The picture faded.
-
Maria frowned and quickly looked away, her eyes welling up again. "See? It's my fault he's like that. He just needs to forget about me and move on." She crossed her arms. "Why is he allowed to quit living if I'm not? I want to see Clark."
-
The ball turned red and a ghost like body came out of it. The ghost looked like the girl Maria was dreaming about. "So me not actually taking my breath doesn't matter to you!" The little girl glared at her. "You'd rather be dead that see me crawl? You'd rather be dead that hear me say my first word?!"
-
Maria closed her eyes. "S-Stop! That's...that's different." She cried softly. "Please, stop..." The thought of losing the baby absolutely horrified Maria.
-
"I won't stop until you listen to reason! I'm from a future where he actually kills himself!! I never got to know my father because you were too stubborn to understand he was trying to protect you! H-he loved you and y-you pushed him away!" The crystal ball lit up again and showed how she pushed him away when he hugged her. The ghost made it zoom onto his face, showing the hurt and pain.
-
By now Maria was sobbing. "N-No, stop! He can't die! But I can't stay with him, I can't keep upsetting him." She looked up the ghost girl, tears streaming down her face. "Brenda will stop him...h-he'll live."
-
"Aunt Brenda won't always be awake to keep watch on him. She won't always be there to make him stay away from his gun." She glared at her more. "He was never upset with you, why couldn't you see that? Why couldn't you see he was trying to protect us both!"
-
She sighed and looked down at the baby bump. "He's already sent me off, what do you want me to do now?" She asked, wiping her eyes and gazing back at the ghost girl.
-
"Be my stubborn mother and go back to him before he does something stupid or kills himself. Be smart please mother and always know he loves you." She smiled lightly. "Now...wake up and do something about it."
-
Maria frowned and fell silent for a few moments before she answered. "Fine, I'll go back." She consented, although she didn't sound at all pleased about it.
-
The little girl ghost grinned more and flicked her forehead. "Bye mom!" The girl disappeared back into the crystal ball.
