"A shadow thing attacked me, but I guess I killed it." He said to Cassie, and then spoke to the person in front of him. "Who are you?"

"Scarlet Jane Ravensblood. I see you've met the lethifolds. You're lucky, these are still young ones. Tell me, are you human?"

Human? Does that mean she's not? "I am. Lethifolds?" He looked to the spot where the creature once was.

"Odd. Lethifolds are lesser demons. They can travel from one shadow to another in a matter of seconds, which means that they could go from here to Africa to Hong Kong in less than a minute."

Cassandra frowned, a thing attacked him? Strange. Cassandra looked slightly confused as she heard a conversation, but only saw one side of it. She shrugged and listened quietly.

"Oh, that's what those things are?" He frowned after hearing that.

"Yes. They were the first ones to break through the vale. They seemed to target you, so you must be careful. Others might follow their lead."

"Alright..." Danny said, before looking back at the spot where it melted.

"Tell me, what do you believe Project: Assimilation Nova is?"

When she heard the other voice ask that question, Cassandra spoke up, "I would like to think that it's just something to give others a scare. But I think it more then that now. Assimilation means to take in or absorb into a group or something like that. And nova means a star that becomes very bright then goes back to normal slowly. I'm not sure how those relate, or if those words have anything to do with the actual Project."
