Nina was in shock, staring at the road where she had just been. Had that really just happened? Had she really just almost died?
Lan's whining snapped her out of it, and she blinked, glancing over at him, then the person who'd grabbed her.
"T-thank you.." -
He nodded, then frowned. "Um, can we... wait." He reached up, searching for his glasses. Shocked to not find them, he looked out into the road and noticed that they'd shattered. "s---." He made sure no cars were coming, then crawled out into the road and grabbed what he thought he could fix.

Nina watched him, curiosity winning over the urge to run as fast as she could home.
"I'm sorry..did you break something of yours?" -
He nodded, cradling the salvaged pieces. At this point, some people had decided that what they'd seen wasn't staged. Those who weren't paying attention to the car started across the street toward Optis and the girl. He looked at her. "We should go."

"Go? Go where?" Nina blinked, frowning.
Lan whined again. -
"Anywhere other than here." He stood and offered the girl his hand.

Nina, against her better judgement, took his hand. She'd later blame the shock of almost getting killed. "O-okay."

He helped her up and started leading her down the street. "Where would we go so that our privacy would not be compromised?"

"Um...My house, I guess. My mom's never home..so.." She blinked, shutting up after she realized she'd just revealed that information.
"Oh my god I'm such an idiot. Who ever are you?" She huffed. -
"Optis Vance. And you?" he asked, glancing back at her. "I am not quite sure where that is, will you lead me?"

"I don't know if I should. I'm Nina Whyte." She said, looking at him as if waiting for a big flashing sign saying 'murderer' or 'rapist' to appear.

"If you're wondering, I'm not going to try to hurt you," he told her.

Nina sighed "That's real reassuring. Oh well..follow me." She decided if he killed her after saving her then he was a real idiot. She patted Lan's head, then started down the sidewalk toward her house.

"By the way, your beast is well trained. I trust it won't hurt me?" He walked with her, on the other side of the dog.

"Beast? Oh, you mean Lan. Yeah, he's a big sweetie." She said, walking.
