In the future, communities are easily picked off by the rulers of the nation in which the story takes place. A group of rebels have discovered the secret to time travel and realize that a teenager who had been killed in the past is actually the perfect candidate for leading them in the rebellion. They choose one of their members, another youth of about the same age, to go back and kidnap her before she gets killed. However, when the time machine breaks, leaving the time traveler stranded, the two have to form a team and end up falling in love.

Appearance: Bleach blonde hair/blue eyes/tall/thin/pretty pale/wears hoodie with small eye logo on left breast/thin pair of glasses (similar to Google glass I guess) that are the time machine
Other: Time traveler/has no information on Nina's society -

Ugh fine
He nodded, then reached up and pressed the little button on the side of the glasses. They then projected a holographic screen in front of him, allowing him to choose a date. He reached forward and swept his finger up and down along each dial, selecting the specific date at which the girl would supposedly be hit, then choosing to go an hour beforehand. He had no idea where she'd be, nor did he know how he'd find her. All he knew was that she had died in the vicinity he currently stood in. The two women and a man smiled sadly and hopefully at him through the hologram. Then, he was gone in a flash of blue light. -
Nina was spending her afternoon like always: alone. She walked down the street, Lan walking beside her on his leash. She yawned, boredly glancing at the people lounging at the little cafes.

Optis came to a few minutes later in an alley, laying against a dumpster. He stood up, brushed himself off, and started out of the alleyway. -

Lan sniffed the flowers planted on a street corner, and Nina scowled.
"Lan, I swear if you mess up those flowers.."
Lan sneezed, and looked back at Nina, tilting his head. -
When he reached the opening, he was a bit confused. Everything seemed relatively pleasant. People were busy, and there were quite a few of them, but no one seemed particularly terrified of public execution by a faraway tyrannic leader. It was a foreign concept for him. Fortunately, his attire was similar to most of theirs. His casual jeans and hoodie seemed to be fitting for the time period.

"Let's go back this way." Nina sighed, tugging Lan along after her. He whined, but followed obediantly.

He reached up, and tapped the button twice. The hologram only reflected on the inside at this point. He had an image of the girl he was supposed to find, but it was fairly vague. Optis started his search, eventually finding a girl he thought was the one.

Nina walked with Lan, then glanced down at him. "We should probably go home soon, huh?"
Lan barked his agreement, tail wagging. -

He continued through the crowd, noting how familiar people here were with animals. Animals were wild, and would kill your family. You didn't keep them with you. What was wrong with these people? -
The time came for them to cross the street. Nina didn't like that part of the walk home, as most the time the cars didn't pay any attention to pedestrians. She waited until there were no cars in sight, and began her walk across.

He saw her just as she started crossing the street, and broke into a sprint. By the time he reached her, she was three fourths of the way across the street. He grabbed her and yanked her over to the sidewalk, pulling her dog with him. A few seconds later, a truck, speeding down the street, crossed the crosswalk and crashed into a corner diagonal from them. He looked over at her, unaware that his glasses were now sitting in the road, broken to bits.
