"We're on our way. I never got your name." He smiled a bit at her.
-
Her face straightened, not showing much emotion. "Simone."
-
"I like that name." They were getting closer to the main part of the city.
-
"Thanks I guess." She looked forward. The City looked less f---ed up then before.
-
He reached out and took her hand. "I don't care how you feel about this, I'm not losing you in these crowds."
-
"You don't have to hold my hand. I'm not a child." She didn't really pull away from his this time, but still spoke out against it.
-
"I didn't say you were. We're just more... possessive and predatory than humans are." He led her through the crowd, not being half as shy with the people around them as he was earlier with her.
-
As they walked through the crowd of the undead she tensed up a bit. "I-I don't like this..." Being surrounded by these things...
-
"Relax," he muttered. Granted, some of them were in worse condition that he was, but that was really the only difference.
-
Even after hearing his words she still wasn't relaxed entirely. "H-hurry up."
-
He looked back at her, smiled a bit, then pulled her closer to one of the buildings. The two of them headed inside and to the top floor in the elevator.
-
She sighed in relief. Thank god she wasn't in crowds of those monsters.
-
He looked at her. "I'm no different than most of them. I'm just more fortunate about how I died."
-
She hesitated to speak. "...how did you die?"
-
"Both of my parents were killed a few years before I was, and a few years before the violence against humans really stopped. I eventually got back into contact with them. Once they realized their little boy was growing older, they... they invited me to dinner and turned me when I wasn't expecting it." He didn't look over at her.
