He frowned. "I don't know whether to apologize or not..." Once he finished his third slice, he put his plate in the sink.
-
She waved her hand as she ate her slice. "It's fine. I can deal with not turning in papers. School is a pain anyways." She finished her sliced and placed the plate into the sink.
-
"How long does school last on Earth?" he asked.
-
he shrugged. "School...well depending on what a person wants to go for, it can go on for a couple of years. We have grade schools for the younger kids and we have middle schools and high schools for the teenagers. College is for teenagers who actually want to succeed in life. Some drop out during high school."
-
"And you're in college, correct?" he asked. "Here, parents are required to teach their offspring the basics of education. By our eleventh birthday, we're in school with others our age and elaborate on what we've been taught by our parents, while learning about the various careers available for us. I focused on intergalactic studies and and community adaptation, which is why I know what I do about Earth."
-
"Yes and I'm planning on dropping out of college. And I though high school was bad, college is way worse." She blinked. "Odd educational system, but you could say the same for me."
-
He shrugged. "It works well, though." He took the rest of the pizza out of the box and put it on a plate, then put the plate in the fridge.
-
"hm..." She yawned lightly. "I shouldn't be tired, I slept almost the whole way here."
-
"I'm tired too," he said, and then yawned as a result of her yawn. "What was that? I've never... I don't think I've ever done that."
-
She laughed lightly. "Yawning. Some people think it's contagious, which it's not. People do that because it shows they are tired or bored."
-
"Are you sure it's not contagious? That's the first time I've ever felt the need to do that."
-
She nodded. "I'm pretty sure it's not contagious." She started to walk to her room. "Night."
-
"Goodnight, Cassie." Orion replied. Once her door was shut, he walked to his own room.
-
She yawned again and flopped onto the bed and curled up under the blankets. What an odd day, what a very odd day.
-
He showered and then fell asleep in his own bed, exhausted from the trip and from worrying about a human girl.He was happy that she'd started to mellow, though whether it was from trust or fear, he didn't know.
