Rave and i thought of this :P
So basically, in the future there was a scientific breakthrough. A dog was made as intelligent as a human. They continued to do this, and tested it on various types of animals. Soon, the animals were released from the lab into the human world, where they still had to fight for there rights.
Flash-forward to recent years, abou 1/20 of population are animals. Animals as we had them in 2014 still exist widely, so there are two kinds of animals. The animals just got rid of the custody rights, so they are not pet of a human anymore, and an animal who is 2 years is a legal adult. Though they're getting more and more rights, they are still discriminated widely by humans. Also people are critisizing interspecies relationships, of creatures who love each other for who they are and see past the flesh.
Anyone interested? We are playing the animals. The setting is a colege, which allows all species.

Peter was walking. He was now 2 years, and ready to go to college. "Um..." He looked at the directions. "I think i went the wrong way..." -
Minnie bounded along the cobblestone path. She was exploring the campus grounds, and the garden in particular was very nice. She had to restrain herself from digging holes multiple times.
Carlos swooped down and landed next to a goose with a puzzled look. "Lost?" -
"Um, yeah... I am looking for the college... The one in this neighborhood."
3 Year old Dennis was happy to start his 2nd year in college. "Hey Rudolph!" A freshman yelled. "Haha very original!" He yelled. -
Carlos chuckled. "Sorry to say you're waddling in the wrong direction." He spread a wing in greeting. "I'm Carlos, by the way."
