"Even if this was a story, that wouldn't be the case. I do take back what I said earlier, though. You're very attractive." The second half was the wine talking.
-
A goofy smile spread across his lips. "I told you. But you must, you are quiet beautiful yourself. Has anyone ever told you that before?" He chuckled.
-
"Last person to tell me that was your father, but his intentions got him a chunk of ice in his chest," she replied in a serious tone.
-
He shrugged. "The old man deserved it." He finished his glass and put the glass on the table. " I don't intend to do anything." It was the truth, he didn't.
-
She stood and slid him the dishes. "I cooked, you clean."
-
He groaned and stood. "Fine." He took the plates and walked over to the sink. He was happy to fun it had water in it to wash the dishes.
-
She wandered over to the fireplace and sat in one of the chairs. Little tendrils of ice swirled down the legs and onto the ground, but melted quickly.
-
It didn't take long and he came back, sitting in his chair once more. He fell silent as he started to think.
-
She sighed. "You really don't need to stay. I don't know where you'll sleep, either."
-
"I could sleep here or the floor." He found the chair quit comfortable.
-
"You could take my bed and I could sleep somewhere else. You are the guest, after all. It's big enough for both of us to sleep in it together if we needed to, though," she realized the last part totally contradicted what she'd said earlier. "I didn't mean- uh..."
-
He laughed, a warm loud one that left a grin on his cheeks. "I would do that, just know I wouldn't touch you. Also, I could sleep right here because I'm okay with that." Smiles.
-
"Do whatever you want. If you want to be out here, I'll grab some blankets for you." She yawned a bit.
-
"I'll just sleep out here. I'd rather not accidentally get frozen." He tugged his furry coat off and laid it down. His white cotton shirt showed his lean muscle as he threw more wood on to the fire.
-
"Okay." She left to go grab him a few blankets. She came back with a stack of three or four. "I can be unpredictable some nights, so..."
