Michael laid on the floor and made himself as uncomfortable as he could, to wake easier. He drifted into a light sleep.
-
Ally found nothing. She knew there would be nothing but whatever. Sighing she continued her walk around the house and still felt lonley even with two other people in the house.
-
Dusk felt her body slowly relax, but her brain didn't. Thoughts raced to and fro in an endless whirlwind of confusion. Forcing her eyes closed, she took in a deep breath and exhaled it, then did it again. After a few more minutes, she had settled into a restless sleep.
-
After twenty minutes of restful sleep, it happened again.
[i]Michael woke up, in an abandoned Costco, to screaming. He got up with a start, his AR-15 scanning around. "What the hell?" he yelled. A swarm of Flood charged them. Gunfire popped around him, and he saw Gabe, a short hispanic guy, with a shotgun breathing fire. "Lex is dead!" he called, racking the slide and firing. Suddenly, a series of long needles impaled him. Francis was behind him, and shot the Flood down, too late. "Haghn, come on!" he shouted. Michael ran dowager him, packing his rifle. Three people made it out, picking up Ash, who'd been napping. "What happened?" Michael asked. "We got hit, we keep moving." Ash said, breathless. "No," he said, "nobody gets left behind, dead alive, or flood." he hefted the rifle and went back, followed by Frey. Relictany, Ash tagged along. Michael sprinted in, gun blazing. A Flood form, from the shelving above dropped on him. A penetrator hit neck, driving toward his spine. He knew it was over. However, a second shot rang out, and the form exploded. Michael looked up, and saw Ash, right as a combat form jumped, and broke her neck. Michael muttered "no," over and over as he ran.
He twisted and turned, and mumbled loudly as the nightmare played out. -
Startled from a voice upstairs and she gave a wild eyed look up the stair case. The guy- Michael, must have been dreaming. Shaking her head she yawned loudly and sat down in the bay window. This was her favorite spot besides the roof. Looking out the window her warm breath soon fogged it up and she drew a flower before it dissapeard.
(What month do you say it is?) -
Dusk felt nightmares lurk at the corners of her mind, and her brain instantly woke her up. With a small gasp, she woke up before the dreams could get to her.
No, she really wasn't go to sleep at all. With a huff, she slipped her weapons back into place and went downstairs to find Ally. It wasn't time for her watch, but she wasn't about to sleep. May as well relieve the other girl. -
Michael rolled over, and opened his eyes, unable to sleep.
(I'd say autumn) -
Ally sat and watched the leaves glisten and twist in the moon light. Checking her watch she saw it was only eleven o'clock. Sighing she pulled herself out of the bay window and started to walk around once more. She heard someone walking and relaxed after a moment. She could already distinguish their food steps.
-
Dusk spotted Ally and quickly noted her stance. The other girl was relaxed, and although Dusk had no doubt she could spring into action at a moment's notice, she herself felt a bit better. If Ally was going to betray them, it wouldn't be now. "I'll take over. You can get sleep." she said in a low voice.
-
He pulled himself up, and began to load a new mag in his rifle. Images played through his eyes as he stared into infinity as he worked mechanically.
-
Ally turned her eyes onto Dusk. "I have an hour left if you just want to keep me company." She said and shrugged. She stopped walking but scanned out the window for anything and found it clear.
-
Dusk nodded and folded her arms over herself, following Ally's gaze out of the window. With a restless shift of her feet, she eyed the other girl.
-
Michael looked at his watch, checking the time and estimating when the watch would change. He knew that he should go back to sleep, but instead finished packing his magazine, loaded the rifle, and left it on the bed. "Do you have any coffee?" he asked, as he walked down the stairs towards the pair. His eyes maintained the haunted look from the dream earlier.
-
Ally noted the hue of ghost in his eyes but didn't say anything. "Yeah, the house runs on a huge generater stored in the basemnet." She walked towards the kitchen silently and made sure they were following. "Here." She handed him a dark red coffee can.
-
Dusk watched Ally hand the coffee over. "I'll have some too." she said. She hadn't had coffee for weeks--looking at it now, she realized how much she missed it. A lot.
