He clicked his tongue and nodded. "Fine, don't tell me how you learned about me. Now just go off to your room for the night. I have...some studies to do." He walked off and two swirls came from behind him and closed the door to his wing.
-
She watched, still slightly in shock. Then Jessamine slowly followed the wisp to her room.
-
The swirl kept moving, sometimes a form of a little girl would show through, but it would go away quickly. Soon the swirl stopped at a door. It was a gold ornate door with spectacular curls on it.
-
"Thank you, I guess," she said to the wisp as she pulled open the door. "Tell him good night, I suppose." Jessamine shut the door behind her.
-
The swirl shot down the corridor quickly and shot to Gregory's wing. It kept moving and finally ended up at the library on his wing. He was looking over multiple books, reading them quickly and soon causing the to float back to the shelf they came from.
-
She set the saddle bag at the end of the bed. She didn't want it to become a habit, but there was something nice about staying in the house of her next victim. Outside, she could hear a distant thunder clatter.
-
Lightning flashed outside and rain started to fall, Gregory glanced out the tall glass window in the library and watched it fall. It always made him want to fall asleep, but he couldn't. He needed to stay awake.
-
She undressed and changed into a nightgown. She searched through her clothes, pulling out a dagger the length of her forearm. It was perfect for his death.
-
After an hour he heard his stomach growl and he sighed. He pointed at a swirl. "Go tell the girl that dinner is going to be served soon." The swirl nodded and floated off down the corridor to get to the girl's room. It knocked loudly.
-
By then she'd put away her belongings in the saddlebags and was investigating the room. She walked over to the door, opening in quietly. "Yes?"
-
The swirl held out a note that Gregory wrote about dinner would be soon and to go to the dining hall. The swirl would lead her there.
-
She read the note. "Well, alright. Thank you."
-
The swirl started to go down the hallway slowly.
-
She followed behind the wisp, slightly more comfortable with it now.
-
The swirl kept going until it led to a door. It opened it and the doorway showed to a long dining hall with a fireplace in the middle.
