"Should I trust you?" she asked nervously. She flinched as the doors opened.

He shrugged. "Depends on you hm." He walked in, making sure to keep the doors open.

Jessamine followed behind. "My name is Jessamine Charter, by the way."

"I didn't ask." He kept walking and the doors shut behind her. Swirls of magic twirled around the corridor.

She watched the magic, her eyes darting from one trail to another.

One swirl came close to Gregory and held a book out. He nodded. "Thank you, I've been looking for this." The swirl soon dissipated. he pointed at one. "You, take the girl to the spare room, just not in my wing." Somehow the swirl nodded and twirled around her.

She took a step back cautiously, a little afraid of the magic.

"It won't hurt you, it's just going to show you to your room." He smirked at her. "Their bark is worse than their bite." The swirl started to float away slowly.

"And I follow it? And it knows what it's doing?" she asked, turning to him with a face full of uncertainty.

"Of course she knows what she is doing. She's my most trusted thing of magic. Just follow her." He started to walk a different direction. "I have work to do."

"... You never told me your name, sir?" She took a few steps after the wisp, but looked back at him.

He stopped for a moment and turned, his miss colored eyes blinked at her. "Well that was rude of me not to tell you. My name is Gregory Blackwater, but you will address me as Master." He turned and started walking again. The wisp waited for the girl to catch up.

Blackwater... that sounds familiar... where do I- "The magician!" She was expected to kill him? she'd had worse jobs, but... a magician?

He chuckled lightly. "So you've heard of me? Odd my enemies only call me The Magician. But they don't matter. They are easy to..." He turned back around to look at her fully. "How do you know that?"

"I've heard of you. They used to talk about a powerful young magician back in the village I'm from. I never knew your first name... But Blackwater isn't a common name." It was a fantastic lie.
