IHLAOY Newbie"Alright, good good, that's good." Meepo said, staring at the bridge in front of him. Or rather, not staring at it, since darkness, by its nature, was invisible. Closing his eyes and holding his breath, Meepo took a cautious step forward. When his foot hit the shadow, cold like ice, Meepo shivered, but otherwise kept moving.
In front of him was the tunnel, and at the end, he could see something odd. A door.
Walking closer, Meepo pulled the handle. Locked, of course. Putting on his glasses though, he noticed something odd. There was writing on the door.
"To enter the realm of darkness and gloom, a test of brains must first be completed. Speak the word and avoid your doom, or wait until the host his greeted."
Meepo nodded, reading further. There appeared to be a riddle on the door. "Like a branch or tree, I grow and flourish; yet I'm filled up with flesh, and the flesh is alive. The word is my being."
Meepo sighed. He was never the best at riddles. What a s---ty riddle anyway, man, f--- riddles. -
When Meepo slipped Ellie remembered something. "Oops... I forgot to enchant the... I'll do that." Ellie stamped her foot and the ice turned white. This meant that others could walk on it without slipping.
When Meepo asked her about why she was called 'Winter', she hesitated. Then she sighed. "I guess if I'm going to travel with you guys, you should know." Eleanor took a deep breath. "I'm a daughter of Mother Nature. I represent the season of Winter. That's why my name is Eleanor Winter Nature. I am one of four quadruplets. It's me, Summer, Spring, and Autumn. We represent the four seasons, and control the weather according to what mother tells us. Also, I live in the South Pole." Eleanor looked ahead, still concentrating on the path. -
IHLAOY NewbieMeepo was silent for a minute, before bursting into laughter. He tried to stop himself, else he might slip off again and drown in the water, but he couldn't avoid it. Another bought of laughter, before Meepo finally controlled himself. "You're last name is nature? And the north pole? Man, that's quite a story. Hey, are you one who keeps sending hailstorms on my house during my movie marathons, or is that Drake again?" Meepo said, smiling nervously. He knew it was impossible, but he didn't want to accidentally wake the dragon from where he was.
"I wish my story was half as interesting as that though. It's just full of mistakes and bad decisions." -
Da Boss Novice"I got it. A child. A child grows and flourishes and is filled with living flesh." It only made sense to Drake, but he wasn't sure it was that simple.

Saige sighed looking at the door. "Do you know the answer, Meepo?" She asked,with a desperate tone. This whole situation was turning out a lot different than she had imagined, but it could have been worse.

IHLAOY NewbieMeepo stared at the door expectantly. He wasn't sure what he was expecting; maybe for it to swing open silently and let the group continue. Instead, it remained shut, the words taunting on its surface.
"Is a child like a tree though? Perhaps it means literally. Grows like a tree, but is fleshy. An animal like a tree. Nope, got nothing." Meepo asked, throwing ideas around. From behind him, a gust of heavy dragon breath hit him in the back. Meepo hoped it was just breathing heavily. -
Ellie laughed nervously. "I probably caused the hail storms. You see, Summer and I aren't exactly on good terms. So we usually cause strange weather with our arguments and pranks. But all that gets us is a scolding from mother, and our weather orbs taken away."
Ellie frowned as the lighthouse still looked rather far. "We have time. Tell your story." -
Da Boss NoviceDrake spun around to see the dragon breathing down Meepo's neck. "Saige, kill it now." Drake drew his sword incase something went wrong. "Try cactus! It grows like a tree, but it can still have fleshy insides!"

Saige drew her dagger slowly, because of the dragon. "No. Sudden. Movements." she whispered. Her voice may have cracked, but she was ready for a fight. She gulped not wanting to turn around to see what was in store for them.

Meepo shrugged, shying away from the edge of the ice. "This thing is like a raft, right? You're not actually freezing all the way to the bottom, are you?" Meepo asked, before looking up.
"Well, I wasn't always...you know, split. And growing up I didn't really have...parents. Kobold culture isn't big on that idea, so I did what I could to survive. Dug up relics and gems for people who needed relics and gems dug up. Life's always about who you know and what you can get, as I say, but I digress."
Some water leapt up at Meepo's side, and he jumped into the air before continuing. "Then there was the whole big incident. Couple of magicians died a few centuries ago, left behind a couple of relics, thought I could grab one or two and make a profit. I found out later they were experimenting with soul shattering, ripping people into pieces, nasty stuff. Anyway, one of the Riftshadow Crystals I found exploded in my face; I woke up two months later in hospital."
"Went home, found three other Meepo's raiding my kitchen. We're not sure which one is the real one." Meepo said. -

"Oh." Ellie said. She didn't know what else to say. Then, in response to the first question, she said, "It's not connected to the bottom, no. That's why I'm concentrating so hard, I suppose."
The lighthouse was close now. Waves crashed into the side of the path now. Ellie's eyes widened. "The tides shouldn't be this high. It has to be the artifact." A large wave came near and Ellie raised a sheild and the water missed the path. Instead the path started tilting. Ellie gritted her teeth in frustration. The ice that they stood on broke off from the rest of the path. One last wave caused the ice to flip over.
