"I guess I'll come along." she said putting her soda down. Some magical crystals wouldn't be to bad to have in possession.

IHLAOY Newbie"I'm glad we're agreed. Sorry there is nothing left to interest you, dear, but perhaps you'll find something interesting in Slark's dark abode." Standing up, Aghanim picked his staff up off the table (a crude replica of the real one, but enough to give someone an idea of what it looked like,) and turned to his son. "Rubick, if you would assist me?"
Standing up too, Rubick walked to the other side of the room. "As per Drake's idea, we will create two separate doors to Slark's domain. I will leave it up to you to decide who pairs with who. You may enter when ready. Be wary once you arrive, for Slark is a fast, slippery being, only boosted by my scepters power, and will seek to stop you the moment you arrive."
With a nod to his son across the room, the two of them made extravagant gestures in the air, warping the space of the room in front of them. With a blast of hot air, the walls on either side of the room faded away, revealing two distinct spaces beyond.
One was dark, full of sharp stones and slimy sand and nameless things that shimmered and vanished in the darkness. One could not see far into the damp cave.
The other opened to a sunny beach; bright but abandoned. In the horizon, amoung the waves, what looked to be a lighthouse stood guard over the waters, marking the entrance to Slark's home.
"Make your choice now, for I cannot risk having Slark escape through these portals." Aghanim shouted over the dank air of his portal. -
Da Boss Novice"I'll go with Saige. Here take these." Drake gave everyone else a pair of night vision goggles he made from the shadows to use. He could see in the dark as if it were day.

Saige glances at her room, then at the others. Taking Drakes googles she cheakes for her dager in her pocket, and luckly, finds it there. "Hope we see each other alive, next time we meet." She said. She walked through the darker looking portal out of her own interest.

Da Boss NoviceDrake followed Saige through the darker portal. He didn't see much at first, but then he began to here a rough scratching sound. Like metal on stone...

Ellie took the goggles and slipped them in her pocket. She turned to Kiwi and Meepo. "I guess I'm with you guys." Ellie smiled. "We have the bigger group, it seems. That also means we have the other portal." Ellie stood up. "Shall we go?"
(I hope I remembered everyone... I guess they could come in later if I forgot...) -

Meepo chuckled, "Nah, both groups are even. Our group is the only one with a net though and that's gotta be important to catch a merman. Terrible things, mermen. Too many teeth, too many weird appendages, too many weird phrases. I never liked mermen. Right, Meepo?"
A flash of light lit up the room, and another Meepo appeared crouched on the edge of the couch. "Too right, Meepo. Don't call me back like that so suddenly next time though, I was halfway through accounting."
"You knew it was coming." Meepo replied.
"That I did. So I have the shovel, I'll head into the cave with Drake and Saige then," he said, leaping over the back of the couch. With a shout that sounded strangely like, 'Bonzai,' Meepo jumped through the portal.
The remaining Meepo turned to Ellie. "Yes, lets get this over with." -
Da Boss NoviceAs Saige and Drake continued through the cave, the scratching noise grew louder and louder. Drake thought he saw movement so he took out his sword.

With each step Saige toke, she felt closer, closer to something big or important. She felt it through blurred thoughts. "Hey Drake, do you think there's an animal out here?" She asked putting the night vision googles on. A stronger thought came, as if it was hungry.

IHLAOY Newbie"Hey guys, wait up!" Meepo shouted to Drake, waving his shovel. "I'm coming alone with ya! You never know when you might need a kobold to show you the way!" Finally reaching the duo, Meepo glanced at the sword, out of breath, "Nice sword."

Ellie was quiet for a moment. Then she blinked and and said, "yes let's go then." Eleanor stepped through the portal. She stepped into shifting grains if sand. She looked across the water. "Amazing," she mumbled to herself. She may hate her sister, Summer, but she had a beautiful season. She stuck her hand in her pocket and tapped a box. Then, her boots vanished. There was no need for them.

Kiwi sighed, "let's go then." She pulled out her fire sword and slipped on the goggles, she headed straight into the beachy postal, looking around curiously. She gazed around, "where are we...?" She scooped up some sand and tossed it into the air, letting it drift in the wind.

Da Boss Novice"Thank you. Well, you kobolds aregreat in environments like this so lead the way. Oh, FYI I think I heard something up ahead, and being where we are, I think we should assume every creature we encounter wants to kill us." Drake was unsure of what beast was ahead. He happened to notice Saige had a look of worry on her face.
