"Umm...alright", she didn't do the stabbing thing, in case an eye popped out or something..so instead she raised her leg and kicked his crotch hard.

He dropped, eyes watering a little. "Yeah... you're good in terms of self defense."

She bent down on her knees to meet his eye level, "I'm sorry, I'm sorry. Please tell me, how much does it hurt? Are you okay? Its not too bad, is it? I just didn't want to stab your eyes out, so this was a better choice right?", yeah...she really never did anything violent and whenever she did, she usually regretted it.

He shook his head. "I'm glad you did that, actually. Don't apologize, I asked you to."

"I'm still sorry, I hate hurting people...anyway why'd you ask?".

"I wanted to know if you'd be able to defend yourself against demons or, I suppose, humans. You definitely are."

"I'm guessing I'm going to be in more situations like this, yes?".

"It's likely." He slowly stood and walked over to the tree where he'd dropped his hoodie.

She blinked and stood up, she shoved her hands into her pockets, and played with the fabric inside, an old nervous habit, "My mum is coming here...in a week, will she be in any danger?".

"Do you know what your mom does for a living?"

"Of course, I live with her...she sells houses".

"Are you sure? Usually our house is only open to other hunters."

Alice laughed, really, she laughed hard, "My mother?! A hunter? Oh no...oh no", she shook her head, "No definitly not".

"If she's not affiliated, she'll be safe. And if she's not, she'll have me or either of the Newhouses."

She nodded her head, "Good...my mother is worse than me, whenever she did a prank call, she would ask the person to talk to the 'almighty fan'".
(Yeah...I do that).
