She laughed softly, "Well, if they come back you can give them a lecture. But I'm sure I'll be fine, I'll just be pathetic and instead of fighting I'll hide behind you, okay?"

He shrugged. "I guess." He put one of the pieces of toast on a plate with some eggs. "Here."

"Thanks", she hopped off the counter and took the plate, "Promise your not as bad a cook as Mrs Newhouse?"

"Much better, actually." He served himself some breakfast as well. "By the way, she's an angel hunter, if I didn't tell you. She probably got a call last night. I don't know when she'll be back."

She sat down at the table and munched on her breakfast, "So we have the house to ourselves?"

"Yep. We can do anything we want." He joined her.

"So Sir.Bat, any magnificent ideas to share?"

"Do you want to do something touristy or something that I'd normally do?" he asked.

"Something you normally do"

"There's a national park about half an hour, maybe forty-five minutes, down the coast." He finished his eggs.

She finished her breakfast, she smiled, "Well that'd be nice"

He took their plates. "Great. I'm gonna go get ready, see you in a bit." He headed upstairs.

"Sure", she said, heading to her room to get changed

He dressed quickly, grabbing a shirt with two wing slits in it and putting it on awkwardly. He pulled on a hoodie after it and went to get the car keys.

She dressed into a pair of shorts and pulled on a tank top, wrapping a scarf around her neck and grabbing her camera, she was done.
