Shade blinked at him, information filing itself into her brain as she took him in. He was strange.
"Fine." She answered him, then nodded at.. Oh, right. It was Lauren, not Lana.
"Hello." She replied, this time to Lauren. -
Lauren noticed the boy sit down. Lauren paused before saying anything else. "How are you liking the camp?" She asked Shade. Lauren noticed that Shade had fast observing eyes. She also noticed that Shade almost looked like she was watching everyone too closely.

"It's...nice." Shade answered truthfully, chewing on a piece of bread. Suspicion was still rolling off of Lauren. She was going to have to tone it down a bit. Act normal.

Kass finished in first with a heavy breath. She wanted to escape now, and she had her weapons in her shorts. She waited till sunset in the field. When the guard cleared the other girls she sliped past some trees and through the fence. Her heart pounded in her ears from fear that she would get caught. So she ran as far as possible. She knew that search parties would come after her in about twenty minutes. -
(So it's sunset?)
Lauren approached Shade a couple of hours later. "When you came to the camp... Where did you come from? The wild, or the training grounds of World War 4?" Lauren asked her. People usually told Lauren that she was blunt, but it was just because she wanted answers. -

Shade chuckled. "The wild, if you wanna call it that." The lie was easily formed, easily executed. "Lived on my own when my mom died. Never knew my dad." It was true, both her parents were gone, but not exactly in that way.

She bumped into two girls having a conversation as she was running. "You have to hide me." she said scrambling to her feet. "They'll be here soon." she said frantically.

Lauren stumbled a bit in the shock of being bumped into. She wasn't expecting that. "Who're you?" She asked cautiously, "and who's coming?"

Instantly Shade knew what was happening. The wild eyes, the pants, the desperation for a hiding spot-- the girl was running from something. "Dammit. Come with me." Shade gestured for the girl to follow her, ignoring Lauren. She was probably running from the people Shade worked for, but she was too experienced to wait and say hello. That would be amateur. So she led the girl to the camp, and shouted. "WW4 forces behind us!" Instantly the camp scrambled to action.

She looked back and forth between the girls before following the girl with brown hair. "This isn't the safest camp." she said remembering what her mom told her. "The main one is in..." she trailed off thinking of the place. "California." she added quickly.

Lauren's eyes widened. "Crap, if WW4 sees me here..." She muttered to herself. She had betrayed WW4 a year ago. If they saw her here, no doubt that she would be the first to die.

"Yeah, well, there's weapons here. And if WW4 agents are behind us, that's all we need." She tossed a gun at Lauren, grabbing her own.

(Wait, I thought she was in the WW4 camp. Like forced training or something.)
