The red dragon slipped back into her pen with a silent smile at Luna. When the riders had left, she turned back to Spiri, a little curious.
-
Lucinda quickly flew back to her room. She changed into a dark yellow tank top and a pair of light green shorts. Her next class was Gem Identification class. She quickly flew out the door, and on to her next class.
-
Luna was fed up with school. Normally, she was the perfect pupil, but not today. She needed to get out! Flying silently out of the school wasn't hard. She entered Crystal Court's famed shopping area, Jade Market. She flew up and down the marble halls, glancing at the unique merchandise. A food stand was selling gold breads, emerald pears, and tiny amethyst grapes, which Luna was tempted to try. Another stand had beautiful dresses, made of spider silk and died with berries. She flitted on, glad to be taking a break.
-
Lucinda sat in her desk at the academy. The teacher was explaining how gems were mined. Lucinda was the only one interested. Everyone else in her class was bored. One guy even fell asleep. After the class was over, an announcement came on that said that all students were permitted to leave school grounds for lunch. Lucinda smiled. Now she could go to the Shipping Area everyone's been raving about.
-
Luna was distracted by a large store. She strode around, her footsteps barley echoing on the smooth sandstone floor. She glanced around, half amazed, half horrified. Every cage was filled with Crystal Dragon eggs, or young baby dragons. The shopkeeper had assured her they were safe, but Luna wasn't sure. The schools were the only ones aloud to hold dragons...
-
Lucinda walked up the the cages of Crystal Dragon eggs. She shook her head. They were illegally keeping Crystal Dragon eggs. Then she noticed Luna. "Hey Luna!" She shouted.
-
Luna turned and waved Lucinda over frantically. "This is totally illegal!" She whispered, ducking away from the shopkeeper's gaze.
-
Lucinda nodded. "I know," she whispered back. "It's terrible. I've read that some people raise Crystal Dragons for slavery or auction to get some money. That's why the Academy sometimes has a shortage of dragons, and why so many people have Pegesi instead." Lucinda frowned. "It's sad, really."
-
"That's terrible!" Luna said angrily. She continued to whisper. "But who can we tell?"
-
"I'm not sure if anyone would believe us. We haven't even graduated from the Academy. This would be a serious claim." Lucinda said quietly. "We would need someone of higher rank to back us up.
(I gtg... I'll come back in an hour or so... Sorry... D:) -
That's okay, bye!)
Luna sighed. "You're right..." She glanced back at the cages of eggs and hatchlings and sighed. "This seems hopeless..." -
"Unless," Lucinda said slowly and quietly. "We can get evidence." Lucinda laughed a bit. "This sounds like a mystery novel!"
-
Luna laughed as well, nodding. "Sure is! And you're right, one of these eggs would be perfect proof!"
-
"Then it's settled." Lucinda said. She walked over to the shopkeeper. "Hello ma'am. How much for one of these eggs?" She asked. The shopkeeper looked at her. "Far to much for you deary." She said. Lucinda looked at her, "try me." She said firmly. "100 gema." The shopkeeper said smugly.
(How about 1 gema is worth 2 dollars... I made it up lol) -
Sure!)
Luna smirked, pulling her birthday gift out. A large Saphire, worth 200 gema. "Will this do?" She asked sweetly.
