IHLAOY Newbie(Sorry it took so long, I had guests over yesterday.)
Another bullet flew down the street, this time missing Jess' hand by mere inches. There was silence from the building, until eventually a tired sigh marked the presence of the shooter. "Did I not tell you NOT to use the radio? For f---s sake, it was one of the first things I said. Do not attempt to use your radio, it was the first thing."
The doors of the building flew open, and out stepped two people. Their faces were hidden from view by a set of identical masks; both of which clashed violently with the guns they were carrying. The shooter continued, "I really should have just shot you, and in any other world I would, that would have made everything much easier. Do not use the radio or I'll shoot, it's a simple instruction."
The two soldiers mover closer, keeping their weapons trained on the girls. The two kept in constant contact through a strange language neither girl could understand; perhaps Russian, as they inched closer. "So this is how things are going to work now. Big sister is going to listen to little sister and put down the weapon. Then both sisters are going to calmly and politely be escorted into the building, where they will be treated kindly and like the prettiest princesses this side of the wastes. And big sister is going to learn why she should obey orders. And then, the two of them are going to help fix the mess they've just created for us. Do I make myself clear, little girls?" The shooter asked. -
"Damn. I missed." Ivy muttered. Oh well. The bow was going to break soon anyway. She looked down at Lucas-was he alive? "Lucas? If your going to help us, then now would be a good time." She said under her breath, eyeing the soldiers that had just come through the doors. She nudged him with her foot, then sighed. She listened to what the voice had to say, rolling her eyes. How old did they think the two of them were? Five? "You know, when I think polite, I don't think guns. Nor when I think calm. And princesses are way overrated, just so you know. Just royalty is better. And why does everybody think that they can just kill whomever they please nowadays. What if we had the cure?" She crossed her arms and glared at the two soldiers. She didn't bother to say anything about the sister thing; she honestly didn't care. It's not like they looked anything alike, anyway.

IHLAOY Newbie"Miss, unless you suddenly turn fifty, gain a hundred pounds and grow a bushy white beard, I'm ninety-nine percent sure you don't have a cure. Besides, cure is an incorrect term, vaccine is much more appropriate; as it is the prevention of a sickness rather than a reversal of one. Now stop arguing and get in here."
The two soldiers remained silent as they took positions, standing behind the girls while being wary of the bow in Jess' hands. It wasn't drawn, and they were sure they could react if she tried, but being careful was the easiest way to survive in this city. With a single hand movement, they motioned for the girls to walk forward.
The radio sparked for a second, and a quiet voice came out, nearly a whisper, "Rob isn't risking anyone, you're in this alone. But that's fine, because ol Viv is going to help you out. Now I don't know who you are, but we need to trust each other. Got it? No wait, don't respond. Wait until it's safe, then respond. We'll get through this together." -
Can I join?)
-
IHLAOY Newbie(Sure, give me a character and I'll try to work them in. Be aware though, this is a pretty slow role-play.)
-
(Yes, you can join. Welcome to the Apocalypse! Lol. I'm waiting until later in the morning because Lianna can't really do much at the moment.)
-
Jess stared at the men with hatred. She couldn't concentrate on her surroundings; mainly because of the dark. "Princess? Sister? You have it all wrong." She spat. Her anger started building the more he spoke.
She slowly shoved the clip from the radio into the pocket in her jeans. The volume was reduced to were only she could hear whatever would be spoken. Who was this voice? She couldn't really tell. -
IHLAOY Newbie"I'm sure you'll be able to explain everything once you come inside." The shooter said, "Bring them in boys."
As the order was given, the two armed guards circled the girls; never lowering their weapons. In wordless silence, they ushered the girls forward. It was clear that they were prepared for the first sign of trouble. As the group moved closer to the building, the shooter appeared again, "Take them to the second floor with Indigo. I'll start packing. We can use them as bargaining chips if Rob shows up before we can leave." -
IHLAOY NewbieLiving alone, you learn to appreciate some of the simpler things in life. A breath of warm air on your neck can make you feel a bit less lonely, a zombie creaking the boards downstairs can remind you of your room mate. And placing your hands on your face can trick you into you're talking to a face to face to a real person instead of a couple of modulated radio waves.
Removing her hands though, Vinyl leaned back. Something was pricking her arm, but she didn't want to stop it. She knew what it was, she knew what would happen if she stopped it. The queen ant inched higher up her arm, daring her to smack it, but she didn't. She needed to have a fresh mind. There were three people trying to find out what happened to Lucas, two people who needed her clear headed guidance, and one person who'd be very angry if she hit that bug right now and fell into another drug addled trance.
So she ignored it. There was still more she needed to do anyway.
