Everyone seemed busy so she walked casualy to the back door, walking out. THE night air was cool on her skin, which made her linger out there a little longer than she should've. Jess set out run towards the city. Once there, she slowed down observing the place. Mostly destroyed.
-
Ivy placed her tack just inside the barn when she saw a lone figure exit the house. Quickly, she hid herself in the shadows, thankful for her dark hair. The figure lingered long enough for her to tell it was Jess. Jess started to run towards the destroyed city, and, after a moments consideration, followed her, the dimming light hiding her.
When Jess finally slowed, they were in the city. It was trashed, with a few buildings still standing here and there. Ivy slipped behind a building, keeping a watch out for zombies. -
Lianna struggled to keep her eyes open. She couldn't sleep, or she would be plagued with nightmares. But her body gave in to the sense of fatigue. She threw out the rag and walked back upstairs, weapons in hand. She placed her weapons on a desk and collapsed onto her bed. Instantly falling asleep under the thin sheets.
-
He flinched in his sleep, as nightmares played with him. They held him in a sleep he wasnt able to wake up from it seems. Suddenly he bolted up right calling out a name, "Jason!" Sweat poured over his skin and he was breathing hard, eyes wild. Sam growled softly and licked his hand.
-
A feeling had built up in her, as if she was being watched. "Who's there?" she asks holding her bow in position. Jess knew zombies roamed the place, but the faint foot steps of what ever was following her, were even enough to tell that it wasn't a zombie. She walked in a circle keeping it where she could shoot any second.

IHLAOY Newbie"Vivian, Vivian; listen to...listen to me, Vivian. Can you understand what I'm saying? Vivian, calm down, listen to what I'm...listen to me. Everything is fine. I really need your help, and you freaking out is not a part of that."
The phone went silent for a moment, before clicking back to life, "Right, sorry. It's just these ants keep climbing all over my arms, it's freaking me out."
The soldier nodded, despite no one around to see him, "It's fine. Now, where are the chi--"
A loud scream cut him off, and the man sighed before hanging up. He'd find the damn zombies himself then, it wasn't like the useless b---- was going to be any help.
The man jumped as a new sound met his ears, only to calm when he realized it was another person. Turning out into the open street, the man paused as he was met with the deadly end of a loaded bow. He flapped his mouth for a few seconds, before words came back, "What the actual hell...?" -
(This was long forgotten.)

(I know right)
Lianna tossed and turned in her sleep. She was sleeping but she wasn't. At least the dream didn't make it seem like she was sleeping.
She was back at her house almost a year ago, when the zombies first came. Her and her sister had just taken care of their own parents after they had turned. Lianna turned to her sister and said, "Are you okay, Karen?" Karen only nodded. Karen's bloody hand was shaking. Lianna frowned. "I know Karen. But it had to be done." Lianna kept an emotionless face on for her sister's sake. Karen turned to Lianna. "Why. Why, Lianna. Why do you stay calm. We just killed our parents because they turned into zombies. Don't you feel anything? Sadness? Regret? Anger? Anything?" Karen started crying. "I can't live like this Lianna! I can't! Mom and Dad are gone, and you can't show any sadness or anything! You try to comfort me, but it only brings me more pain. The zombies scare me, and you act like you don't care! I just can't live like this anymore!" Karen lifted her knife and pointed it at her chest. Lianna's eyes widened. "Karen! Don't!" Lianna reached for the knife, but Karen already plunged the knife through her body. Karen fell. Her last words were: "I'm sorry... Lianna." Lianna pulled the knife out of her sister's body and hugged Karen. "No... No... No! NO! KAREN!" Lianna bawled more then she ever had before. The memory kept repeating itself in Lianna's nightmares. Making her night an endless torment. -
Ivy looked around; how did this happen? Zombies? No, they weren't smart enough. She peeked out. There was a boy....well man. He looked like he didn't want to viciously murder them, unlike the previous companion she had traveled with. She couldn't quite remember his name; Steve? Steph? Something starting with 'St'. Something moved in the darkness behind Jess, causing Ivy to raise her bow defensively. A zombie stepped into the light of the moon, but something was wrong. It wasn't groaning or moaning like all the other zombies. Nor was it dragging it's feet along the ground. It was placing them, carefully, quietly. Ivy's eyes widened. The zombies....they were evolving.
"No, no, no, no, no." She muttered, glancing behind her. Zombie. She shot it, and turned at shot the one behind Jess. It fell to the ground with a thud. Ivy stepped out into the little light there was.
"You're welcome. And it wouldn't do to kill one of the remaining few, now would it? Besides, he might have some information." She said, leaning on a building, bow over her shoulder. -
IHLAOY NewbieThe man flinched as a loud thunk echoed through the air, but tried his best not to move. Never make quick movements when someone was pointing a weapon at you; that was the first thing Rob taught you. The second was cardio, but that was neither here nor there.
Slowly, and in a completely calm manner, the man put his gun on the ground and raised his hands. One person he might have been able to take, but he hadn't even seen the second one, there could be dozens of them. Better to play it safe.
"If you're looking for food, you'll need to take it up with Rob, and even then I wouldn't count on it. Ammo must be a non issue for you too, considering you don't have a gun. What do you want?" -
"I have a gun." Ivy said, pulling it out and pointing it at him, pretending to fire. She laughed, before putting it back on her belt. She was in a weird mood. Neither neutral nor depressed, just calm. Calm and cheerful. "So, do you have information? Who's Rob, by the way?" She asked raising an eyebrow.
-
IHLAOY NewbieThe man flinched again, before grabbing his chest in an exaggerated motion of fear. "For christ's sake, lady, have you never owned a gun before? Never, never point a gun at anything you don't want to kill, loaded or unloaded. And your trigger discipline. Just because the world is more dangerous now doesn't make a gun any less dangerous than before."
Slowly bending down, and keeping an eye on the girl pointing a bow at him, the man grabbed his gun and stood up. "Information about what? If you want information, call that b---- Vivian, she's got mountains of it. S'only reason she's up there."
At the next question, the man raised an eyebrow. "You know, Rob. Big military guy? Handles survivors in this area? Rob." -
Glaring at Ivy, Jess pushed her bow away. "I came here to get my thoughts straight, and then all of a sudden you fools come." She said sighing. She didn't care for sleep anymore, heck, she didn't mind if she got stabbed or shot. "And you, random guy, go die in a hole." she said, almost laughing at what she told this new guy, but she didn't really care.

IHLAOY Newbie"Lucas. My name is Lucas Kane." The man said, turning towards Jess. "And I'm not sure I appreciate such a tone coming from a complete stranger who's wandering around a level five zone for 'kicks.'" Lucas said, adjusting his jacket. The cold chill of the night was starting to set in, and he knew by now that his body absolutely hated the cold.
"Now if you'll excuse me, I'd like to ask some questions," Lucas said, "Who are you two? What are you doing out here? If you're looking for supplies, we have them all stockpiled back at the HQ. If you're passing through, it's not a good idea to travel at night. If you're looking for a refuge, there are better places. The only reason I can think of for coming into a level five danger zone are suicide, or suicide mission; and I don't think you two are on a suicide mission." -
(You know whats creepy? I know someone called either Marcus or Lucas Kane.)
Ivy raised an eyebrow. "No one said I wasn't intending to kill you. And Jess, really? Really? I'm a stuck-up, good-for-nothing, know-it-all, snot-nosed, bratty little 10-year-old. Of course I was going to follow you when you leave the house." She glared back, clearly annoyed. "We have shelter, Lucas, or Mr. Kane, or whatever. A horse too. And what's with all the 'level five danger zone' stuff. If it's suicide, then why are you here?" She asked, rocking onto the balls of her feet, constantly aware. If this Lucas tried any funny business, she would have a sword blade against his throat in 5 seconds flat, max. That is, if Jess didn't get there first.
