IHLAOY Newbie(Well, my character isn't really the interactive kind, which was kinda a bad idea, but I need to wait until everyone gets moving again before I can jump in and really start doing anything. Otherwise it'll just be myself talking to myself.)
-
IHLAOY NewbieFar away, in a city that was crushed and ground under the feet of hundreds of deceased bodies, a single light shone bright. It shined on despite the darkness encircling it for the night, it shined on despite the need to stay hidden, it shined on despite the complete lack of electricity that had become the norm. And under the light of this bulb, there was life.
Vivian Scratch took a small sip of her drink before getting to work. Buttons and levers moved under her hand as she adjusted the board in front of her, trying to find that single sweet spot. And with a relieved shout, she found it.
Far away yet again, near an old run down truck where a group of cocky and quite frankly odd survivors camped, the radio; once full of static, blared to life.
"Hello, eve-ry-body! This is Vivian Scratch, the terror of the waste, the fire on the dance floor, the lone radio host in a music less land, speaking, and you are listening to the Bump's 17 point 5. We've got a lot to get through today; got some Break-Bot lined up for those music-bro's among us, gonna give a course on treating broken bones for the practical among us and I'm going to tell you guys about the time I got struck by lightning, because I'm tired of getting calls asking for it. And usually my co-host would give a report on zombie movements, but I'll be taking over that for today."
The voice stopped for a second as Vivian breathed in, seemingly having said all the above in one continuous breath. "But first, phone number. Get ready to write it down, 46 9999 9998. Pretty hard, yes? Call that number if you need any help, want to request some music, or even if you just want someone to chat to, I'm always happy to help. But I've talked enough for now, I'll leave you guys with some music to dwell on before we start the program."
And with that, the girl in the tower leaned back, sipping her drink. The switch went down, and the music started playing, and Vivian returned to waiting for her phone to ring. Perhaps she'll hear from Rob again, he was always fun. Or even Dan.
Or perhaps...nah, she'd never call. But a girl could still dream, even easier now that the world was under darkness. -
IHLAOY Newbie(Bumping past the spam.
I miss when trolling meant something.) -
He perked up, a voice on the radio snatched his attention. Using that number he use what was left of life on his phone. He waited as the phone rang and rang. Maybe... He kept fiddling with things as he waited.
-
Ivy jumped slightly as the radio suddenly came to life, causing Lucky to hiss slightly. She perked up when the woman, Vivian Scratch, said something about zombie movements. She desperately wanted to know if there was a safe way out of the city, so she could find her parents.
-
IHLAOY Newbie(Haha, I just spent the last ten minutes searching for Ben's app before realizing he didn't have one, stupid me.)
Music had always been a passion for Vivian. It was just that sweet thing that stuck with her throughout her whole life. It was probably the only thing still keeping her sane, though she'd never admit it. Well, that and her show, but it was mainly about the music.
Placing her drink back down; AWAY from the sensitive electrical equipment this time; and lowering her headphones until the music faded from her head, Vivian picked up the phone.
It had probably been ringing for a while, she was always so slow with it. She needed a second person to carry her slack. Regardless, Vivian raised the phone up to her mouth, "Rob, I swear, if the next words out of your mouth are any combination of 'help,' 'look up' or 'me,' I will hang up this time. Now why are you calling?" -
"Who's Rob?" He asked over the line. Sam laid across his lap like a stuffed dog but he was a lot bigger. He hated going towards cities, it's where zombies where mostly found roaming around.
-
Lianna listened as the radio was playing music, and the phone conversation went on.
-
IHLAOY NewbieVivian nearly choked as a very un-Rob-like voice greeted her from the other side of the line. It was a good thing that she was mostly alone where she was, because the shades of red she was turning could not be perceived by the human eye.
"Oh my god, I'm so sorry. I thought you were...never mind. You...you're new! New guy! New...person! Gimme a second to calm down here, we haven't had a new guy in weeks; we thought you'd stopped coming."
Moving a few more sliders and nailing a few more buttons (along with taking the time to sip on her drink,) Vivian returned to the phone. "Alright, new kid, you're on the air! Tell us your name and how I can help. I am at your command." -
He grinned "Names Jackson. Jackson Green." He wounderd how old she was. "I have a few people with me now... Where are you?" He asked her.
-
IHLAOY NewbieVivian grinned, "Jackson, great name, I love it. Many great men are called Jackson. Joe, Micheal, Stonewall. Jackson is a great name."
Pausing for a moment, Vivian replied nervously, "Where am I? Oh you know, somewhere. Looking out the window I see...zombies. And a radio tower. And that looks like the remains of my favorite club over there in the distance. So yea...I'm in a place. Not too bad, considering the circumstances."
"Can I ask a question? How many people are in your group at the moment and where are you?" -
He couldn't help but laugh, smart ass. He thought. He counted heads and told her. "6 and a cat and a dog." Sam barked loudly just to be noticed.
-
IHLAOY NewbieRunning some numbers in her head, Vivian noted that Jackson hadn't actually answered the end half of her question. Probably intentionally, which was fair in a way. She didn't know where they were, they didn't know where she was. Fair.
Then a specific thought crossed her head, "Just curious, is there a girl called...Melody in your group?" -
He thought for a moment "No." He frowned "Why?"
