Right, right. Sorry!!)
Hackles raised and fangs bared, Ladybird hid Fang with her fluffy tail. Then she stared up at the larger wolf. "I will help no one. You stay away from my son," she growled. -
Foxes not wolves lol)
-
Oh my gosh I meant foxes. Sorrrrry!!! I was watchinga documentary on wolves at the same time and accidentally wrote wolves. lol)
-
Cahnicay gave the vixen a dismayed look. "We mean no harm, we just-" "Enough, Cahn." Quinn silenced his younger brother. "We will find no help here." Whipping his brother around, the two dissapeared, growling under their breaths. Bane, when the two returned, sighed resignedly. "I'll hunt for us tonight. But prey is scarce. We need another way."
-
Ladybird's back fur settled, but she was still nervous.
-
Marcus puffed quietly and watched the males leave. He relaxed hopeing they didn't catch the brutes scent. Slipping back into the under growth he headed towards a lake. Winter would soon be upon them and prey would soon be hiding.
Rosa rose and dipped her head to the male before going into the under growth to explore her new home. She let her defenses go down as she started to trot through the thick under growth. -
Lucky??)
-
Sorry!)
Bear sighed as though struck by Cupid, watching Rosa exit the clearing.
Bane returned to his brothers, two skimpy rabbits layed out alongside a thin sparrow. -
Rosa sniffed the air and puffed when a sparrow came into view. Lowering herself to her belly she snuck forward and went still as a statue. She suddenly sprang and with a delicate but deadly nip the sparrows neck was broken. Lifting herself up proudly she looked around.
Marcus lowers himself near the waters edge an watches the water. He then stood and went to a fallen log that had a thin layer of ice making it slick. Digging his class in he watched the water once more before flashing a paw in and a fish flopped into the air and he snatched it up. A snow flake landed on his nose. -
That's okee!)
"What's so terrible about those pesky wolves, anyway?" grumbled Fang, skeptical tone muffled by the hare leg crammed into his tiny yet spacious mouth.
Ladybird sighed. "They will bring harm to us and our family."
"WHAT family?!!" demanded the cross pup. "It's just you and me!"
"Ypu and I, dearest."
"Whatever!"
Before his mother could stop him, Fang romped hautily out of the den. -
"Now's our chance!" Cahn barked, leaping out at the pup.
-
Marcus lifted his head and slowly trotted towards where the pup and mother had denned. He always had a soft spot for pups even though he didn't look soft at all.
Rosa lifted her ears with a quick and delicate flip. Puffing out air she padded back towards the clearing where the others awaited. -
Screaming in terror, Fang tried to escape, but Cahn was too quick for a plump fox kit like him. He was now caught like a rat in... well, a wolf's jaws.
Ladybird was already bounding after her son in such a frantic motion she nearly tripped. Fiercely she leaped onto Cahn's broad back, clawing at him. She hissed, "Release my son!!"
Never seeing his mother this chaotic, Fang squeaked, "Mama!" -
Cahnicay growled fiercely, dipping his head. Swiftly swooping his jaws he tossed the pup aside. But he was tackled by another white shape. "Quinn?!" Quinn climbed off. "Don't do this. Go back to Bane. I'll handle this." Cahn growled but obeyed. Quinn turned to Ladybird. "I am so sorry Madame. My brother can be folkish sometimes. You must understand he is still young. But I know that does not exuse his actions, not does a simple apology. How can my brothers replay for what he has done?"
-
Rosa returned and sat back down in her place where she had sat before he left Bear. Finding a comfortable positon she began to eat quietly.
Marcus tilted his head as he watched the chaos. With a flick of his giant cranium he let the fish flop into the center by the pups feet. He slipped away and eased towards the badger den where his clan was waiting.
